tripleS (트리플에스/トリプルS; also known as SSS or Social Sonyo Seoul), is a 24-member South Korean girl group under MODHAUS. The group consists of Kim YooYeon, Mayu, Xinyu, Kim NaKyoung, Park SoHyun, Seo DaHyun, Nien, Yoon SeoYeon, JiYeon, Kotone, Kim ChaeYeon, Gong YuBin, Lee JiWoo, Kaede, Park ShiOn, Sullin, Lynn, Jeong HyeRin, Kim ChaeWon, Jeong HaYeon, Kim SooMin, Kwak YeonJi, JooBin, and SeoAh. tripleS debuted with the first 10 members on February 13, 2023, with the mini album ASSEMBLE, and made their OT24 debut on May 8, 2024, with ASSEMBLE24. Their official anniversary date is May 1, 2022, when the first member was revealed.

Group Name Meaning: tripleS or SSS, stands for Social Sonyo Seoul, which means Social Girls living in Seoul. During the pre-debut project, trainees and potential members were referred to as small “s” and revealed members were referred to as big “S”.

tripleS Concept:
Known as “the idol of all possibilities“, tripleS is the world’s first decentralized K-pop idol group. The members will rotate between the full group, sub-units, and solo activities. Fans can communicate with the group and participate in their activities such as deciding sub-units through Gravity, and can collect digital photocards called “Objekts”. With the members all having the special ability ‘S’, they will join forces and demonstrate their abilities through the “Dimensions” (sub-units) that they will recreate every season with new concepts.

Pre-Debut Project:
The group started being introduced to the public through a pre-debut project that began in April 2022, where each of the 24 members are revealed periodically. The group uploaded their first YouTube video on April 4, 2022, titled “tripleS 트리플에스 : thesis“. The first member Yoon SeoYeon was revealed on May 1, 2022, and Jeong HyeRin, Lee JiWoo, Kim ChaeYeon, Kim YooYeon, Kim SooMin, Kim NaKyoung and Gong YuBin were revealed over a span of the next 4 months. The first sub-unit formed by the eight members was Acid Angel from Asia, and they made their debut with the mini album ACCESS on October 28, 2022. tripleS revealed members Kaede and Seo DaHyun between November and December 2022 before announcing their official debut with 10 members in early 2023.

The group revealed Kotone, Kwak YeonJi, Nien and Park SoHyun from January to April 2023, while the other 10 members made their group debut with ASSEMBLE on February 13, 2023. On May 5, 2023,
+(KR)ystal Eyes, the second sub-unit that was formed from the first 8 members (AAA’s sister unit) made their debut with the mini album AESTHETIC. In June, +(KR)ystal Eyes released a remix of their song Touch called Touch+, featuring Park SoHyun, who worked on +(KR)ystal Eyes‘s mini album.

In July, a collaboration sub-unit between AAA and KRE called ACID EYES was formed and they released a mash-up single album titled Cherry Gene on July 6, 2023. Xinyu and Mayu were also revealed in July. In August, the first sub-unit from the 16 members of tripleS called LOVElution, made their debut with their mini Album ↀ (MUHAN). In October, the second sub-unit from the 16 members of tripleS called EVOLution, made their debut with their mini Album ⟡ (MUJUK). In December, Lynn, JooBin, Jeong HaYeon, and Park ShiOn were revealed and debuted as NXT with their digital single Just Do It.

In January, a special ballad sub-unit called Aria made their debut on January 15, 2024, with their single album titled Structure Of Sadness. The final 4 members of tripleS, KimChaeWon, Sullin, SeoAh and JiYeon were revealed in April 2024, and the very last member was revealed exactly 2 years after the first tripleS video was uploaded. This reveal marked the end of the two year pre-debut project and led the way to tripleS‘ first OT24 album titled ASSEMBLE24.

Post-Debut Activities:
Kim ChaeWon, Sullin, SeoAh, and JiYeon, who were revealed in April 2024 and were not in a sub-unit, debuted as Glow with the digital single 내적 댄스 (Inner Dance) in June. The group hosted their first OT24 concert titled Girls Never Stop in July, and later released a pre-debut Japanese single titled
### (Hash). The group announced a new 12-member dance sub-unit titled Vision@ry Vision, which would be making their debut in October. A new 8-member Japanese sub-unit was also announced, named ∞! (Hatchi). They will be promoting for a full year, before reorganising in 2025.

On October 23, 2024,  Vision@ry Vision made their debut with their studio album Performante, making tripleS the first ever girl group to release two studio albums in the same year. ∞! (Hatchi) made their debut on November 20th, 2024, with their single album Untitled in Japan. Kim NaKyoung released a special digital single titled Closer on December 24, 2024, while tripleS had a few members record some OSTs, including Dreaming and Polaroid.

What are Objekts?
Objekts are digital photocards that fans can collect on the Cosmo app. Fans can trade Objekts through the “send” feature on Cosmo. These photocards can be obtained by physical purchases, or purchases through the app. Digital Objekts don’t hold any value, as you have an equal chance of getting different ones. Physical Objekts are able to be minted into your collection by scanning them in on the Cosmo app. Each Objekt produces at least one Como, which is used as a token to vote in Gravities. One Como is equal to one vote and you can cast multiple votes in a Gravity if you wish. There are five different classes of Objekt, Welcome Class Objekt (WCO), Zero Class Objekt (ZCO), First Class Objekt (FCO), Double Class Objekt (DCO), Special Class Objekt (SCO) and Premier Class Objekt (PCO).

What are Seasons?
Seasons are different time periods between group comebacks. Whenever a new season starts, fans can collect a brand new set of Objekts, and other activites also occur such as sub-unit debuts and variety shows. The seasons so far are ATOM 01, BINARY 01, CREAM 01, DIVINE 01, EVER 01 and ATOM 02. Once a season has passed, you can no longer buy Objekts from that season on Cosmo. So far, season changes have occurred on February 13, 2023, (tripleS‘ OT10 group debut date), October 11, 2023 (EVOLution‘s debut date), May 8, 2024, (tripleS‘ OT24 group debut date), November 11, 2024 (just before ∞! (Hatchi)‘s debut date) and on May 6, 2025, (tripleS‘ first OT24 comeback).

What is Gravity?
Gravity is a voting system that tripleS uses to decide things such as the lineups for different sub-units, the stages they will perform at their showcases and the name of their fandom and other sub-units. Gravity takes place on tripleS’ app Cosmo, where fans can use Como to vote during Gravity. Como can be obtained through buying Objekts (photocards) and 1 vote is equal to 1 Como, which means you can also cast multiple votes. Gravities are connected to a blockchain network to show full voting transparency, meaning they cannot be rigged. There have been 21 Gravities held so far.

tripleS Discography:
tripleS has put out a vast amount of songs since their musical debut in October 2022. In 2023, the group put out 4 mini albums, a single album, and two digital singles. In 2024, the group released two studio albums in the same year, becoming the first ever girl group to do so (TVXQ! holding the male record of this), as well as another two digital singles and two single albums. The group has a total of 66 songs in their discography.
