What does ‘tripleS’ mean?
tripleS means that small S’ gather and make one big S.
tripleS Concept:
Known as “The idol of all possibilities“, tripleS is the world’s first decentralized K-pop idol group. The members will rotate between the full group, sub-units, and solo activities. Fans can communicate with the group and participate in their activities such as deciding sub-units through Gravity, and can collect digital photocards called “Objekts”. With the members all having the special ability ‘S’, they will join forces and demonstrate their abilities through the “Dimensions” (sub-units) that they will recreate every season with new concepts.
Pre-Debut Project:
The group started being introduced to the public through a pre-debut project that began in April 2022, where each of the 24 members are revealed periodically. The group uploaded their first YouTube video on April 4, 2022, titled “tripleS 트리플에스 : thesis”. The first member Yoon SeoYeon was revealed on May 1, 2022, and 7 more member were revealed over a span of 4 months. The first sub-unit formed by the eight members was Acid Angel from Asia, and they made their debut with the mini album ACCESS on October 28, 2022. tripleS revealed another 2 members between November and December 2022 before announcing their official debut with 10 members in early 2023.
The group revealed 4 more members from January to April 2023, while the other 10 members made their group debut with ASSEMBLE on February 13, 2023. On May 5, 2023, +(KR)ystal Eyes, the second sub-unit that was formed from the first 8 member (AAA’s sister unit) made their debut with the mini album AESTHETIC. In June, +(KR)ystal Eyes released a remix of their song Touch called Touch+, featuring the latest revealed member of tripleS, who actually worked on +(KR)ystal Eyes’s mini album.
In July, a collaboration sub-unit between AAA and KRE called ACID EYES was formed and they released a mash-up single album titled Cherry Gene on July 6, 2023. Two more members were also revealed in July. In August, the first sub-unit from the 16 members of tripleS called LOVElution, made their debut with their mini Album ↀ (MUHAN). In October, the second sub-unit from the 16 members of tripleS called EVOLution, made their debut with their mini Album ↀ (MUJUK). In December, four more members were revealed and debuted as NXT with their digital single Just Do It.
In January, a special balled sub-unit called Aria made their debut on January 15, 2024 with their single album titled Structure Of Sadness. The final 4 members of tripleS were revealed in April 2024, and the very last member was revealed exactly 2 years after the first tripleS video was uploaded. This reveal marked the end of the two year pre-debut project and led the way to tripleS’ first OT24 album titled ASSEMBLE24.
What are Objekts?
Objekts are digital photocards that fans can collect on the Cosmo app. Fans can trade Objekts through the “send” feature on Cosmo. These photocards can be obtained by physical purchases, or purchases through the app. Digital Objekts don’t hold any value, as you have an equal chance of getting different ones. Physical Objekts are able to be minted into your collection by scanning them in on the Cosmo app. Each Objekt produces at least one Como, which is used as a token to vote in Gravities. One Como is equal to one vote and you can cast multiple votes in a Gravity if you wish. There are five different classes of Objekt, Welcome Class Objekt (WCO), Zero Class Objekt (ZCO), First Class Objekt (FCO), Double Class Objekt (DCO), and Special Class Objekt (SCO).
What are Seasons?
Seasons are different time periods between group comebacks. Whenever a new season starts, fans
can collect a brand new set of Objekts with new members revealed in the seasons. The seasons so far
are ATOM01, BINARY01, and CREAM01. Once a season has passed, you can no longer buy Objekts
from that season on Cosmo. So far, season changes have occurred on February 13, 2023, (tripleS‘
full group debut date) and October 11, 2023 (EVOLution‘s debut date).
What is Gravity?
Gravity is a voting system that tripleS uses to decide things such as the lineups for different sub-units, the stages they will perform at their showcases and the name of their fandom and other sub-units. Gravity takes place on tripleS’ app Cosmo, where fans can use Como to vote during Gravity. Como can be obtained through buying Objekts (photocards) and 1 vote is equal to 1 Como, which means you can also cast multiple votes. Gravities are connected to a blockchain network to show full voting transparency, meaning they cannot be rigged. There have been 21 Gravities held so far.
