IM66 Members Profile and Facts
IM66 (아이엠66) was a South Korean pre-debut idol boy band under MBK Entertainment, consisting of 10 members: Junhyuk, Ki-O, Seongchae, Yunhyeong, Jiho, Giseok, Sangwoo, Hangyul, Taeeun, and Gijung. The band was first announced on January 6, 2015, with 2 confirmed members, Seongchae and Sangwoo, and was said to debut in 2015 with a total of 5 members. Around September and October, additional members, Ki-O and Jaeyoung, were introduced. The band appeared in livestreams and as backup musicians for other MBK artists until around June 2016, when the group was officially named and re-introduced with 6 members, Junhyuk, Ki-O, Seongchae, Jiho, Sangwoo, and Hangyul, with a planned debut in fall 2016. However, that fell through, and on April 14, 2017, it was announced that the lineup had been finalized with 10 members. On August 31, 2017, their 4-member performance sub-unit IM was announced, who debuted the following day under Yama & Hotchicks Entertainment with the single “Sad Story”. Later, the IM members, along with Ki-O, joined the survival show The Unit in October 2017. Shortly before IM‘s debut, the IM66 socials were closed down, however on July 7, 2018, IM‘s socials were reverted to IM66, and a song snippet was posted, suggesting the end of unit activities and an upcoming full group debut. However, members gradually started opening individual Instagram accounts throughout 2018 and early 2019, and ultimately, the group disbanded in May 2019 after a period of inactivity, and all their socials were rebranded to MBK BOYS‘ official pages.
