Boys24: Where Are They Now?

BOYS24 (소년24) was a survival show aired on MNET presented by Oh Yeonseo. The show aired on June 18, 2016 consisting of 49 participants split into seven units:
Unit Yellow, Unit Blue, Unit White, Unit Green, Unit Purple, Unit Red and Unit Sky.
The first stage was ‘excavation’. Of the total of 5500 applicants, 49 were selected by Mnet.com as untreated gemstones.
The second stage was ‘competition’.
The third stage was ‘growth’, where only 4 unit’s would get to debut in a 28-member group Boys24 (it was actually 24 but later in the group there were changes), which would be confirmed in the theater and group would promote for a 1 year and 6 months.
The final stage was ‘evolution’. It could be said that they had evolved to become a crystal, and among the 28 people, a few select members who had the highest level in all aspects would make their debut as an idol group.
They would enter the world of ‘pro’ and start full-scale activity.
The final lineup was announced at Olympic Hall, Seoul on August 12, 2017 as a 9 member group called IN2IT.
IN2IT left MMO Entertainment on Jan 31, 2020. They’re now independent.
On March 16, 2023, IN2IT announced they have renamed their group name to SKYE.

Debut Team:
Rank-1 (Debut) Hwang Inho

— He debuted in show’s final lineup, IN2IT, and will continue promoting with them.
— He enlisted on Dec 31, 2020 and got discharged somewhere in September 30, 2022.

Rank-2 (Debut) Jeong Yeontae

— He was actually eliminated in the Finale but was brought back to replace Lee Sangmin who withdrew from the group Boys24, then five eliminated members were revived to replace his position. For this reason, there were 28 members instead of 24.
— He debuted in show’s final lineup, IN2IT and will continue promoting with them.
— He enlisted on November 12, 2020 and got discharged in August 11, 2022.

Rank-5 (Debut) Yu Youngdoo

— He debuted in show’s final lineup, IN2IT, under the stage name Jiahn, and will continue promoting with them.
— Although the other members were enlisted, he focused on becoming a producer.

Rank-6 (Debut) Isaac Voo

— He debuted in show’s final lineup, IN2IT and will continue promoting with them.
— He is currently staying in his hometown Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia and will continue with personal schedule while the Korean IN2IT members are enlisted.
— On May 2022 he signed an exclusive contract with Prodigee Asia Talent for solo stuff but is still a member of IN2IT.
— He debuted as soloist on August 5, 2022 with title “Time Bomb”.

Rank-7 (Debut) Lee Inpyo

— He debuted in show’s final lineup, IN2IT and will continue promoting with them.
— He enlisted on November 9, 2020 and got discharged in May 8, 2022.

Rank-8 (Debut) Han Hyunuk

— He was actually eliminated in the Finale but was brought back to replace the Lee Sangmin who withdrew from the group Boys24, then five eliminated members were revived to replace his position. For this reason, there were 28 members instead of 24.
— He debuted in show’s final lineup, IN2IT and will continue promoting with them.
— He enlisted on Dec 21, 2020 and got discharged in June 20, 2022.

Member who left the group:
Rank-3 (Debut) *Left the Group Kim Riho

— He debuted in show’s final lineup, IN2IT.
— On March 26, 2018, it was announced that he left the group as he has been suffering from Meniere’s disease (an inner ear disorder).
— He regularly posts on social media.

Rank-4 (Debut) *Left The Group Kim Sunghyun

— He was actually eliminated in the final but was brought back to replace the Lee Sangmin who withdrew from the group Boys24, then five eliminated members were revived to replace his position. For this reason, there were 28 members instead of 24.
— He debuted in show’s final lineup, IN2IT.
— He was a contestant on Produce X 101 but was eliminated on Episode 8 rank 44.
— On September 5, 2019, it was announced that he left the group for personal reasons.
— He is currently an actor under Black Hole Man Entertainment and regularly post on social media.

Rank-7 (Debut) *Withdrawn From The Group – Jin Sungho

— He was actually eliminated in the Finale but was brought back to replace the Lee Sangmin who withdrew from the group Boys24, then five eliminated members were revived to replace his position. For this reason, there were 28 members instead of 24.
— Two days after the final lineup was announced on August 14 2017, it was announced that Sungho left the group because he had a different musical point of view, so he never became part of IN2IT.
— He joined MIXNINE a few months later but placed 15 he did not make it into the final lineup.
— He then debuted in a boy group 1TEAM under Liveworks Company on March 27, 2019 with title “VIBE” under the stage name BC.
— 1TEAM disbanded on March 10, 2021.
— He is now active as a producer and composer.

BOYS24 Group
Unit White:
(Pre-debut Group) – Park Doha

— He auditioned for MIXNINE but did not passed the audition.
— He signed an exclusive contract with music label Million Market as soloist in May 2018, but didn’t debut yet because of his enlistment.
— He finished his military service on December 19, 2020 and got discharged.
— He signed under Nature Space Entertainment and would debut in the boy group XEED with Shin Jaemin.
— He debuted in the boy group XEED as group’s leader on December 1, 2022 with the mini album Dreamland”.

(Pre-debut Group) Lee Louoon

— He regularly posts on social media.

(Pre-Debut Group) Go Jihyeong

— He is focusing more on acting.
— He regularly posts on social media.

(Pre-Debut Group) Kang San

— He hasn’t been posting much on social media, so his current activities are unknown.

Unit Red:
(Pre-Debut Group) Tak Jinkyu

— He was actually eliminated in the Finale but was brought back to replace the Lee Sangmin who withdrew from the group Boys24, then five eliminated members were revived to replace his position. For this reason, there were 28 members instead of 24.
— His Instagram is private, but he still posts regularly.

(Pre-Debut Group) Choe Chani

— Chani debuted in the boy group The Man BLK under Stardium Entertainment on November 15, 2018 with the song “Free Fall”. He left the group on March 3, 2021.
— He is working as an actor now and post’s regularly on social media.

(Pre-Debut Group) Lee Rubin

— Rubin participated on MIXNINE and finished 3rd. He was in the debuting team, but the debut got cancelled.
— He debuted in the boy group 1TEAM as group’s leader with Sungho under Liveworks Company on March 27, 2019 with title “VIBE”. The group disbanded on March 10, 2021.
— Rubin left the entertainment industry and is now a tattooist. He currently uses the moniker Colin for his activities and post’s regularly on social media.

(Pre-Debut Group) Kim Hongin

— He appeared in Chungha‘s “Play” MV as her dance duet partner.
— He regularly posts on social media.

(Pre-Debut Group) – Park Yongkwon

— He was posting on his social media but later deleted it.
— On April 11, 2022, he was revealed as one of the Korean members, of an upcoming Thai-Korean boy group. The boy group would be formed by the survival show Seven Stars, which started airing on July 2, 2022. The group was created which he is part of the lineup of Thai-Korean boy group called SEVEN STARS under Ganada Entertainment group changed their name to THE7.
— He debuted in T-Pop boy group THE7 on January 29, 2023 with the title “GET LOOSE”.

Unit Blue:
(Pre-Debut Group) Jung Minhwan

— He was apart of H Next Boys project HNB, whose project is debut a boy group.
— He debuted in the group D1CE under the stage name Yoojun on August 1st 2019 with the song “Wake Up” under D1CE Entertainment.
— The group disbanded on January 21, 2023.
— He regularly posts on social media.

(Pre-Debut Group) – Shin Jaemin

— He regularly posts on social media.
— He signed under Nature Space Entertainment and was scheduled to debut in the boy group XEED with Park Doha.
— He debuted in the boy group XEED on December 1, 2022 with the mini album Dreamland”.

(Pre-Debut Group) Kim Younghyun

— He participated in Mixnine but didn’t pass the auditions.
—He debuted as a solo singer under the stage name R1AN on June 23rd, 2020 with the song “에베베 (Eh bebe)” and Lo-Fi Kids.

(Pre-Debut Group) Lee Changmin

— He signed under Brave Entertainment where he was scheduled debut in their new boy group.
— He debuted in boy group DKB as group’s leader on February 3, 2020 with mini album “YOUTH” under the stage name E-Chan.

(Pre-Debut Group) Chae Hocheol

— He was posting regularly on social media but later turned his Instagram private and deleted his posts.
— He was in the pre-debut group JTG BOYS under JTG Entertainment.
— On May 12, 2021, it was announced JTG Entertainment would merge with Starweave Entertainment.
— He debuted in boy group Jwiiver on February 17, 2022 under the stage name Ryujei with the EP “Jtrap”.

Unit Purple:
(Pre-Debut Group) Choi Seonghwan
— He regularly posts on social media.

(Pre-Debut Group) Choi Jaehyun

— He regularly posts on social media.
— Jaehyun acted on many dramas, assuming that he is focusing more on acting.

(Pre-Debut) Lee Woojin

— He debuted on the group MY.st on March 26th, 2020 with the song “Don’t Know” under MYstar Entertainment.
— In July 2021, member Keonwoo revealed that the group took legal action against the company to terminate their contracts. They disbanded on July 17, 2021.
— He regularly posts on social media.

BOYS24 Member’s That Left:

(Pre-Debut) *Left The Show – Oh Jinseok

— He left the show’s group and did not participate in the final of Boys24, but would finish the BOYS24 Live Concert until August 6.
— He is an independent singer under the stage name OBON.
— He debuted on February 26, 2019 with the title song “Good Time” he is also an actor.

(Pre-Debut Group) *Removed From The Show – Lee Hwayoung

— On February 14, 2017, he was removed from the group and show for saying harsh words about fans.
— He regularly posts covers on his Youtube channel Hwayoung.

(Pre-Debut Group) *Left The Show Lee Sangmin

— Sangmin was supposed to be eliminated on Episode 6 but Insoo got eliminated instead of him.
— Shortly after the survival show ended and the lineup for BOYS24 was announced, he withdrew from the group for personal reasons then five other members had to replace his position.
— He regularly posts on social media.

(Episode 8 Final’s) – Alex Moon

— He participated on Mixnine under his birth name but was eliminated on Episode 10 Rank 50.
— He signed under Liveworks Company where he was a trainee between 2017 and 2018 but later left the label.
— He signed under MNH Entertainment where he was revealed as a member for company’s first boy group BOM (Boys of MNH) as pre-debut name.
— He debuted in boy group 8TURN as group’s leader on January 30, 2023 with the mini album “8TURNRISE”.

Episode 6 Members’ Revival:
(Episode 6) Unit Yellow – David Shin
— Nothing has been heard from him.

(Episode 6) Unit Green Park Woonyoung

— He joined the group Be.A in 2017 until group quietly disbanded.
— He post on social media.

(Episode 6) Unit Red Namgoong Woon

— He debuted in an indie band called GrayTree.
— He regularly posts on social media.

(Episode 6) Unit Sky Lee Insoo

— He was a participant on Produce 101 Season 2 but was eliminated in Episode 8 Rank:57.
— He was part of the boy group Off the Cuff under Purple Entertainment but they disbanded on April 9, 2021.
— He quit being an idol and founded Hi!THERE, his own agency for content creators he regularly posts on social media.

(Episode 6) Unit White – Park Junseo

— He signed under PocketDol Studio (MBK sub-label) where later on September 21, 2020, Junseo was introduced as the eighth member of the pre-debut group POCKETDOLZ.
— Junseo debuted in boy group BAE173 on November 19, 2020 with the mini album ‘INTERSECTION: SPARK’.

Unit Blue Episode 5:
(Episode 5) – Kim Taedong

— He was part of a pre-debut group GIDONGDAE under 2Y Entertainment. They released their pre-debut song “Party Like This” on June 3, 2020.
— Later, all members announced on Instagram that the group disbanded.
— He was revealed in a mysterious teaser for a brand-new boy group called OMEGA X under Spire Entertainment on March 18, 2021.
— He debuted in the boy group OMEGA X on June 30, 2021 with mini album “VAMOS”.
— Group left their previous label after winning lawsuit against abuse by Spire Entertainment, later on July 3, 2023 IPQ announced that they signed an exclusive contract with OMEGA X as their first artist.
— He is still promoting with the group.

(Episode 5) Kim Taeyeon

— He’s been regularly posting on social media.

(Episode 5) – Yoon Jonghyuk

— He posted regularly on social media but later deleted his Instagram.

Unit Purple Episode 4:
(Episode 4) – Shin Kyuhyun

— Nothing has been heard from him.

(Episode 4) Shim Yeonsuk

— He regularly posted on social media but has been silent since 2019.

(Episode 4) – Jo Yoonhyung

— Nothing has been heard from him.

(Episode 4) Lee Sangwook

— He debuted in the group N.TIC on February 26th, 2018 with the song “Once Again” under Yechan Media.
— He regularly posts on social media.

Episode 3:
(Episode 3) Unit White Lee Gwanghyun
— He signed under Starship Entertainment and was a participant on Produce 101 Season 2 but was eliminated in Episode 8 Rank:44.
— He returned to his label Starship Entertainment and debuted in Starship’s project boy group YDPP. They released “Love It Live It” on April 5, 2018.
— On August 6, 2019, it was announced that he parted ways with Starship Entertainment he regularly posts on social media.
— He seems to be the owner of a cafe in Incheon now.

(Episode 3) Unit Blue – Shin Kyuhyun

— He debuted in the boy group ENOi on April 19, 2019 under Kithewhale Entertainment with the song “Bloom”.
ENOi disbanded January 22, 2021, but he still decided to stay with the agency.
— He regularly posted on social media but later deleted his Instagram his activities are unknown.

(Episode 3) Unit Green Shin Jinghyu

— He participated on MBC survivial show Under Nineteen, under the name Shin Chanbin, and was ranked 10th in performance team. Overall Rank: 29.
— Shin turned his Instagram private, so it’s unknown what he’s up to.

(Episode 3) Unit Purple – Park Yunsol

— He participated on Produce X 101 and finished 48th place, but was eliminated in Episode 8.
— Yunsol also participated on Japanese global idol development project survival show G-EGG where he ranked 8th making him in the final lineup project group NIK.
— He debuted in the boy group NIK on September 27, 2021 with the song “Santa Monica”.
— On June 30, it was announced that the group will be disbanding following the expiration of their contract in July 2023.
— On June 5, 2023, it was announced that he enlisted in millitary in July.

(Episode-3) Unit Red – Yang Heechan

— He signed under Brave Entertainment and also debuted in boy group DKB with E-Chan.

(Episode 3) Unit Sky Kim Suhan

— He regularly posts on social media.

(Episode 3) Unit Yellow – Jung Giseok

— He debuted in IM after but they disbanded quietly.
— He was a contestant on survival show The Unit but was eliminated in Episode 13.
— Nothing has been heard from him since then.
