14U Members Profile and Facts
14U (원포유) was a South Korean boy group under BG Entertainment, made up of 14 members: E.Sol, Luha, Gohyeon, B.S, Loudi, Eunjae, Woojoo, Dohyuk, Hyunwoong, Hero, Rio, Sejin, Gyeongtae, and Gun. The group was first introduced in September 2016 with 10 members. Two weeks later, all member photos were removed and the group’s official social media accounts went inactive. In October, the members were reintroduced, this time with their faces hidden. Face reveals began on December 25, with the exception of the 14th member, Woojoo, whose face was revealed later on February 14, 2017. The original 14-member lineup featured Doyool, who was later replaced by Gun. On April 17, 2017, they released the first version of their debut single “VVV”. The second and final version was released on July 18, however, the agency designated July 22, the date of their first music show appearance, as the group’s official debut date. The members were divided into two sub-units, Xplosive and Lucky (also known as Team X and Team L). Xplosive was formed to project explosive charisma and masculinity, while Lucky focused on a cute and innocent image. In April 2019 the group’s appearance at KCON Japan was suddenly cancelled due to internal circumstances. Later, on May 10, an article was released reporting that the members’ exclusive contracts with the agency had been terminated between February and April of that year and the members went their separate ways. Reports cited internal conflicts between the members and the company as the reason for the group’s disbandment. Following this news, E.Sol confirmed on fan cafe that 13 out of 14 members had indeed terminated their contracts. The agency then issued an official statement on May 12, 2019, formally announcing the group’s disbandment.
