STU48 (acronym of Setouchi48) is a Japanese girl idol group formed in 2015 as the 5th sister group of AKB48. Their debut single Kurayami was released in January 2018. The group is managed by STU Co. , Ltd (partially owned by Setouchi Tourism Promotion Organization) and releasing under KING RECORDS. The group is based in the Setouchi region, covering 7 prefectures, and has a boat theater, traveling through the area. Unlike other groups in the franchise, STU48 is not divided into teams; every full member belongs to team STU. They currently have 27 full members and 2 Kenkyuusei, divided into subunits.
