Artists BABYMETAL Have Met
Strangely, some people online underestimate BABYMETAL’s impact and popularity. However, they have met some of the biggest artists in the world over the years, and even released songs with Tom Morello of Rage Against The Machine and Audioslave, as well as Lil Uzi Vert earlier this year. Here’s some of those artists in question, and some info so people can fully understand just how successful BABYMETAL are!
Rob Zombie [May 9, 2016]
Rob Zombie is an American singer-songwriter, record producer, filmmaker, and actor. He is a former member of the band White Zombie and is best known for his album Hellbilly Deluxe. He has sold over 15 million records worldwide, and directed, produced and wrote the 2007 movie Halloween. Following his posts with BABYMETAL, some people began hating on the girls under his posts. Rob responded by defending the girls, stating they “are nice kids out on the road touring. What are you doing besides being a grumpy old f***?”.
Chino Moreno (Deftones) [July 7, 2014]
Camillo “Chino” Wong Moreno is an American musician. He is best known as the lead vocalist and primary lyricist of the band Deftones, who were formed in 1988. The band’s song “Elite” won a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance, and their albums have seen huge success, especially the 2000 album White Pony.

Kirk Hammett (Metallica) [August 11, 2013 & August 10, 2014]
Kirk Lee Hammett is an American musician who is the lead guitarist of the thrash metal band Metallica. Prior to joining Metallica in 1983, he co-formed the band Exodus in 1979. In 2003, Kirk was ranked 11th on Rolling Stone’s list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time, and in 2009 he was ranked 15th in Joel McIver‘s book The 100 Greatest Metal Guitarists. Kirk is known as one of the best guitarists nowadays.
Robert Trujillo (Metallica) [October 14, 2023]
Robert Trujillo is the current bassist of Metallica, being added to the band on February 24, 2003, two years after Jason Newsted‘s departure. He was the bassist of the band Suicidal Tendencies from 1989-1995. He has also performed with Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains, Black Label Society and Ozzy Osbourne of Black Sabbath. He is Metallica’s longest-serving bassist, and he was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2009, along with Metallica’s previous bassists Jason Newsted and Cliff Burton.
Lady Gaga [August 12, 2014]
Lady Gaga is an American singer-songwriter and actress. She began performing as a teenager, and is known for her successful albums The Fame, Born This Way, Chromatica as well as others. She has collaborated with Ariana Grande in the past for the single Rain on Me, as well as BLACKPINK for the song Sour Candy. She appeared in the miniseries American Horror Story: Hotel and the musical A Star Is Born, where her chart-topping single “Shallow” was featured. She is the first woman to win an Academy Award, BAFTA Award, Golden Globe Award and Grammy Award all in one year.
Yoshiki (X JAPAN) [July 9, 2014]
X Japan is a Japanese rock band from Chiba, and are widely credited as one of the pioneers of Visual Kei. They are, without a doubt, one of the most influential Japanese bands yet. Yoshiki, drummer and pianist of the band, formed the band in 1982 with vocalist Toshi. Yoshiki has been described by Billboard as a “musical innovator” and is named “one of the most influential composers in Japanese history” by Consequence. He has collaborated with artists such as will.i.am, The Chainsmokers, Skrillex, KISS, Roger Taylor and Brian May of Queen, Nicole Scherzinger and George Martin.
Gary Holt & Kerry King (Slayer) [July 8, 2014]
Slayer was an American thrash metal band formed in 1981. Their fast and aggressive music style made them one of the “big four” bands of thrash metal with Metallica, Megadeth and Anthrax. Kerry King’s guitar solos have been described as “wildly chaotic”, and his work on the 2006 album Christ Illusion has been thought to have created “an intensely harrowing and angular riff that changes from verse to verse, through the refrain and bridge, and comes back again.” Gary Holt is also currently a member of Exodus, and is the only member who has played on all of their albums.
Perfume [December 26, 2014]
One of the most popular Japanese girl groups, Perfume is a Japanese trio from Hiroshima, consisting of NOCCHI, Kashiyuka and A~chan. Originally starting out as a local group, the group began receiving major attention in Japan after releasing their 7th single Polyrhythm. The group has sold over 5 million records. Their fifth album Cosmic Explorer was selected as one of the 20 Best Pop Albums of 2016 by Rolling Stone.
Ariana Grande [August 16, 2015]
Ariana Grande is an American singer-songwriter and actress. She is seen as an influential figure in contemporary pop music, and is often regarded as a pop culture icon. She has received 2 Grammy Awards, one Brit Award, one Bambi Award, 2 Billboard Music Awards, 3 American Music Awards, 9 MTV Video Music Awards and 30 Guinness World Records. She rose to fame for playing Cat Valentine in Victorious and Sam & Cat. She has been cited as an influence by many artists, including Lana Del Rey, Dove Cameron, Giselle from aespa, Jungkook from BTS and Yeri from Red Velvet.
Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit) [May 30, 2015]
William Frederick Durst is an American rapper, singer-songwriter and director. He is the frontman and lyricist of Limp Bizkit, formed in 1994, who are considered one of the defining bands of the nu metal genre, inspiring bands such as Linkin Park in the 2000s. Limp Bizkit were even mentioned in a scene between Dr. Robotnik and Knuckles in the film Sonic the Hedgehog 2, where Robotnik compares Knuckles to being as useless as a “Limp Bizkit backstage pass”. Fred Durst has made appearances as himself in the movies Zoolander and Pauly Shore is Dead. He is also an unlockable character in the 2001 video game WWF SmackDown! Just Bring It.
Dave Mustaine (Megadeth) [August 17, 2014 & June 17, 2015]
Megadeth were formed in 1983 by Dave Mustaine, and are best known for their albums Peace Sells… but Who’s Buying?, Countdown to Extinction and Rust in Peace. Megadeth have received 12 Grammy nominations, and won their first Grammy Award in 2017 for the song Dystopia in the Best Metal Performance category. Mustaine was ranked 3rd in the top 25 rhythm guitarists of all time, decided on the internet forum of Ultimate Guitar. He was also ranked 1st in Loudwire’s 66 Best Hard Rock + Metal Guitarists of All Time, and 3rd in their 10 Greatest Rhythm Guitarists in Rock + Metal.
Alex Venturella (Slipknot) [June 14, 2015]
Alessandro “Vman” Venturella is a British musician. He is the current bassist for nu metal band Slipknot. He was also previously the lead guitarist for Krokodil and Cry for Silence. He was officially revealed as the new bassist by Slipknot guitarist Jim Root in an interview on May 13, 2015. However, Venturella had previously been performing with them since October 7, 2014, and made his debut with the band on their album .5: The Gray Chapter, which was nominated for Best Rock Album in 2015. From this album, the song The Negative One received a nomination for Best Metal Performance at the Grammy Awards. The song Custer also received a Best Metal Performance nomination.
Jason Hook (Five Finger Death Punch) [June 14, 2015]
Jason Hook joined FFDP in 2009 following the departure of Darrell Roberts. He is also the founder and guitarist of Canadian/American band Flat Back and he was briefly a member of BulletBoys. Hook featured on Cory Marks‘s single Blame It on the Double in 2021.
Gene Simmons (KISS) [June 17, 2015]
KISS were formed in 1973 and are known for their face paint and stage outfits. They are regarded as one of the most influential rock bands of all time, as well as one of the best selling bands of all time, claiming to have sold over 75 million records worldwide. KISS have earned 30 Gold albums and 14 Platinum albums (3 of which earned multi-Platinum). They were ranked by MTV as the 9th Greatest Metal Band of All Time. Simmons was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2014.
Brian May (Queen) [June 16, 2015]
Queen are undoubtedly one of the most influential rock bands of all time. Consisting of Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor and John Deacon, the band released their self-titled debut album in 1973. Their album A Night at the Opera, featuring the track Bohemian Rhapsody, brought them international success. Brian May was ranked at 26th on Rolling Stone’s 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time, and was ranked as the 2nd greatest guitarist in a Guitar World magazine poll.
Brian May was knighted by King Charles III in the 2023 New Years Honours for services to music and charity.
Bring Me The Horizon [June 12, 2015/June 16, 2015/November 21, 2019]
Bring Me The Horizon, often abbreviated as BMTH, are a British rock band formed in Sheffield in 2004. Despite being met with critical disdain due to their deathcore sound in their debut album Count Your Blessings, their second album Suicide Season was met with success and popularity. The band has received four Kerrang! Awards and have been nominated for two Grammy Awards. They have sold over 5 million records worldwide, and topped the UK Rock & Metal Singles Chart with songs such as Throne, Drown, Mantra and Parasite Eve. The band is well known for their song Can You Feel My Heart.
Fun Fact: On October 30, 2020, Bring Me The Horizon and BABYMETAL released a song together, named “Kingslayer”. You can watch the official lyric video here!
Avatar [September 7, 2019]
Avatar is a Swedish heavy metal band, formed in Gothenburg in 2001. The band has had some success on US rock radio, mainly with their song New Land, which peaked at #20 on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Songs chart in May 2017 and The Dirt I’m Buried In peaking at #1 on the same chart in August 2023, making it the song with the longest journey to #1 in the last 20 years.
Billie Eilish [July 1, 2019]
Billie Eilish is an American singer-songwriter, who first gained attention in 2015 with her debut single Ocean Eyes. Her debut EP Don’t Smile at Me reached the top 15 of record charts in countries including the US, UK, Canada and Australia. Her first studio album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? was one of the best-selling albums of 2019, with her song Bad Guy reaching #1 on the US Billboard Hot 100. She is the first artist born in the 21st century to release a chart-topping single.
F.HERO [June 28, 2019 & May 28, 2023]
F.HERO is a Thai rapper and actor under High Cloud Entertainment. He was also a member of the rap crews Sing Nuer Suer Tai and Gancore Club. He was featured on the track Mirror Mirror alongside Thai rapper MILLI and Stray Kids member Changbin.
Fun Fact: BABYMETAL and F.HERO released a song called “PA PA YA!!” together. It is featured on BABYMETAL’s 3rd studio album Metal Galaxy. You can watch the official video here!
Judas Priest [December 4, 2018]
Judas Priest is an English heavy metal band formed in Birmingham in 1969. They have sold over 50 million albums and are frequently regarded as one of the greatest metal bands of all time. The band received a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance in 2010 and have had their songs featured in video games such as the Guitar Hero and Rock Band series. In 2022, they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Foo Fighters [August 19, 2017]
Initially founded as a one-man project by formed Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, Foo Fighters are an American rock band formed in Seattle in 1994. The band have won 15 Grammy Awards, including Best Rock Album 5 times, making them among the most successful rock acts in Grammy history. In 2021, they were the recipients of the first ever Global Icon award at the 2021 MTV Video Music Awards. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021.
MAXIMUM THE HORMONE [August 19, 2017]
MAXIMUM THE HORMONE is a Japanese heavy metal/hardcore punk band from Hachioji, Tokyo. They are best known for their unconventional and experimental style of alternative metal music, and have found success incorporating elements of heavy metal, hardcore punk, hip hop, pop, funk and ska into their music. Their eclectic nature frequently draws comparisons to Armenian-American metal band System Of A Down, formed in 1994 in California. The two are said to have a similar sound.
Stone Sour [June 25, 2017]
Formed as a side project by Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor, Stone Sour is an American rock band formed in Des Moines, Iowa in 1992. They originally disbanded in 1997, before reuniting in 2000. The band have been on an indefinite hiatus since 2020. The band’s self-titled studio album Stone Sour earned them 2 Grammy Award nominations for Best Metal Performance, for the singles Get Inside and Inhale. The band have sold 2.1 million albums in the US as of April 2017.
Korn [June 20, 2017]
Korn, also written as KoЯn, is an American nu metal band formed in Bakersfield, California in 1993. They are notable for pioneering the nu metal genre and bringing it into the mainstream. They released their first two albums Korn and Life Is Peachy in 1994 and 1996, however, they first experienced mainstream success with Follow the Leader (1998) and Issues (1999), with both albums debuting at #1 on the Billboard 200. They have earned 2 Grammy Awards out of 8 nominations, and 2 MTV Video Music Awards out of 11 nominations.
Guns N’ Roses [January 30, 2017]
Guns N’ Roses is an American hard rock band formed in March 1985 in Los Angeles, California when the bands Hollywood Rose and L.A. Guns merged. Their song Welcome to the Jungle‘s music video brought the band mainstream popularity. Their song Sweet Child O’ Mine became the band’s only single to reach #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Guns N’ Roses have sold over 100 million records worldwide, including 45 million in the United States, making them one of the best-selling acts in history.

Metallica is an American heavy metal band formed in 1981 in Los Angeles by vocalist/rhythm guitarist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich. They first found commercial success with the release of their third album Master of Puppets, with the track of the same name recently appearing in the 4th season of Stranger Things. Metallica have won 9 Grammy Awards from 23 nominations and had 6 consecutive studio albums (from Metallica (1991) to Hardwired… to Self-Destruct (2016)) debut at #1 on the Billboard 200. They are one of the most commercially successful bands of all time, having sold over 125 million albums worldwide as of 2018.

Corey Taylor is an American musician, songwriter, author and actor. He is the lead vocalist of the heavy metal bands Slipknot and Stone Sour. Rammstein is a German band formed in 1994 in Berlin. They were one of the first bands to emerge within the Neue Deutsche Härte (NDH) genre. They have earned many No.1 albums as well as gold and platinum certifications around the world. They received 2 nominations at the Grammy Awards; the first in 1999 for their song Du hast, and the second in 2006 for Mein Teil, both for Best Metal Performance.
David Draiman (Disturbed) [June 5, 2016]
Disturbed were formed in Chicago in 1994, with their debut album reaching success mainly due to the singles Down With the Sickness and Stupify. They have sold over 17 million records worlwide, have 6 RIAA certifications and have received 2 Grammy Award nominations. Draiman is known for his distorted, operatic, baritone voice. In 2006, he was ranked at 42nd on the Hit Parader list of Top 100 Metal Vocalists of All Time.
David Ellefson (Megadeth) [June 5, 2016]
David Warren Ellefson was a member of Megadeth from 1983-2002 before returning in 2010 and leaving again in 2021. He co-founded the band the Lucid in 2021 and currently releases music with them, releasing an EP in January of 2023 which featured a guest performance from Violent J of Insane Clown Posse.
Lamb of God [May 15, 2016]
Lamb of God/LoG were formed in 1994 in Richmond, Virginia. Their sales equal almost 2 million in the US, including 2 certified Gold albums by the RIAA. They have also received Grammy nominations, and have supported Metallica and Slayer on their tours previously.
Skrillex [September 20, 2015]
Skrillex is an American DJ and music producer who was a member of the band From First to Last from 2004-2007. He has won 8 Grammy Awards, which is more than any other EDM artist. He collaborated with 4Minute in 2016, composing and arranging their track Hate. He has overall received 13 awards, and has been featured in DJ Magazine’s Top 100 DJs list since 2011.

Vic Fuentes (Pierce The Veil) [August 31, 2015]
Pierce the Veil were formed in San Diego in 2006. They are known for their album Collide with the Sky and the hit tracks King for a Day and A Match into Water. Vic Fuentes is known for his high vocal range, and was nominated for Best Vocalist in 2014 and 2015 at the Alternative Press Music Awards.
Polyphia [October 8, 2023]
Polyphia is a primarily instrumental prog rock band based in Texas, formed in 2010. Their sound is noted for incorporating virtuosic guitar parts with other styles of music. Their fourth album Remember That You Will Die debuted at #33 on the Billboard 200.
Amy Lee & Will Hunt (Evanescence) [August 20, 2023]
Evanescence is an American rock band founded in 1995 in Little Rock, Arkansas. They are known for their debut studio album Fallen, released in 2003, and the hit singles Bring Me to Life and My Immortal. The album sold over 4 million copies by January 2004, and it gained the band 2 Grammy Awards out of 6 nominations. Vocalist Amy Lee has won various awards since 2007, and is the chairperson for the international epilepsy awareness foundation Out of the Shadows. Drummer Will Hunt has been a member since 2007, and has also played for bands such as Black Label Society and Crossfade.

Sabaton is a power metal and heavy metal band from Falun, Sweden, formed in December 1999. Majority of their albums are written about historical events, mainly wars and battles. They are referred to as one of the “big four” power metal bands, along with Helloween, Blind Guardian and DragonForce. They are one of the most successful metal bands in Swedish history. They have won awards at Bandit Rock Awards, Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards, Metal Hammer Awards and more.
