EXO & TWICE Similarities

Before we show their similarities from these amazing young talented top global groups all the way from Korea, we must briefly get to know them first.

EXO (Korean: 엑소; Japanese: エキソ; Simplified Chinese: 外索; Traditional Chinese: 外索) is currently a 9-membered Korean-Chinese global idol boy group debuted on April 8th of 2012 under SM Entertainment (one of the music labels under Kakao Entertainment after the acquisition since late March 2023). The group is currently comprised of Xiumin, Suho, Lay Zhang, Byun Baekhyun, Chen, Park Chanyeol, Doh Kyungsoo, Kai, and Oh Sehun.

TWICE (Korean: 트와이스; Japanese: トゥワイス; Simplified Chinese: 两次; Traditional Chinese: 兩次) is a Korean-Taiwanese-Japanese global idol girl group debuted on October 20th of 2015 under JYP Entertainment. The group is comprised of Nayeon, Jeongyeon, Momo, Sana, Jihyo, Mina, Dahyun, Chaeyoung, and Tzuyu.

Here are their similarities!

* Both are 9-membered global groups
– EXO were originally 12 members before the current members lineup settled since middle of 2015.
* Both have the 1-1-2-2-3 scheme when it comes to members’ birth year composition.
– EXO: 1 is 1990 liner, 1 is 1993 liner, 2 are 1991 liners, 2 are 1994 liners, 3 are 1992 liners
– TWICE: 1 is 1995 liner, 1 is 1998 liner, 2 are 1997 liners, 2 are 1999 liners, 3 are 1996 liners
* Both have different pre-debut group names before they settled of what they are now.
– EXO: M1 & Land of Boys/Boys’ Land/Boys’ Heaven during 2009
– TWICE: 6MIX during 2013-2014
* Both has a member who is a penguin in their group.

* Both has a member who is a bunny in their group.

* They were hailed as kings and queens of Choeaedol’s Charity Angel for 2021 after they sweep all the 12 months of 2021 of Charity Angel titles for male group and female group categories respectively.
– Therefore, it was the first time that two groups got a sweep for Charity Angel title in a single year in the Choeaedol platform history.
* They both won the RET Popularity Award titles for male group and female group categories in the 2021 edition of Asia Artist Awards.
– Therefore, they were invited to attend the 2022 edition of the said prestigious award show which will held in Japan.

– In EXO’s case, only Suho, Park Chanyeol, Kai, and Oh Sehun are currently under SM for both group and individual activities with the latter two paused their contracts due to their duties in the military service.
– As for the TWICE’s case, all 9 members already renewed with JYPE since July 2022 (3 months ahead of their original exclusive contract expiration on October 2022).
* Both of them experienced to perform on their respective solo concert tours in any of the bigger stadium venues across the globe.
– Currently for EXO, they didn’t yet to experienced to perform in a bigger stadiums on their previous global concert tours except for the following venues stated below:

— Although, their plans on conducting a bigger stadium tours for their future solo concert tours will be already onboard starting within late 2025 or early 2026 once that the youngest member Sehun discharged from the military service by Fall 2025.
