SHISHAMO (シシャモ) is a three-member girls rock band signed to UNIVERSAL SIGMA. The members were high school classmates and members of the light music club, and they formed SHISHAMO as a cover band in 2010, their first year of highschool. They began writing original music in 2011, and went on to win the grand prize and the best vocalist award at the TEENS ROCK IN HITACHINAKA 2012 music contest. They are now a popular band known for their warm and mellow sound and their narrative lyrics.
