K-pop songs and meanings! (Part 1)

Have you ever wondered about those catchy K-pop songs you listen to and what they may actually mean? Well, here are some songs with the meaning explained (so you can just sit back and enjoy):

1. Butterfly by BTS: This song speaks about love. Love can be like a butterfly, fragile and you need to be careful not to do the wrong thing or else consequences appear. But, will what you want to be lost in vain if you do something wrong?

2. Shut Down by Blackpink: Throughout Blackpink’s existence, many people have looked down on them. This is very wrong. At the beginning of the song, Lisa says, “It’s not a comeback because we never left”. Blackpink is getting back on its feet showing they can’t be shut down, you get shut down by Blackpink!

3. Boys Like You by ITZY: In the concept, Lia, Ryujin, Yuna, Yeji, and Chaeryoung, are all girls who like the same boy. The girls don’t know this until they see each of the girl’s “man” with one of the members. The reason behind this song is, player boys are very common in life. Knowing one is easy, but finding and catching one is very difficult.

4. Danger by BTS: If you are in high school or have had at least one relationship you know how much it can be difficult to maintain one. This song is about how the girl is ignoring the feelings the boyfriend is putting out there. The boy put his love feelings toward her but she’s not interested. It makes the boys feel a matter of rage, jealousy, and hurt as if their feelings don’t matter.
