We recently had a chance to talk with content creator PLOOPY678, who is known for her long-form informative Kpop videos and dance covers We interviewed her about their personal interests, Youtube channel and future goals. Who are your favourite non-K-pop artists?
I don’t have a favourite artist! I think it is important as a K-pop content creator to remain impartial and objective, so I enjoy a wide variety of K-pop acts, but more for their music/ work as opposed to being a fan of the artist themselves!
What is your “unpopular K-pop opinion”?
If kpop fans are going to hold the company 100% responsible for everything bad that happens to an idol (be it scandals, bad comebacks etc.), then the company should also get the credit when things go well for the idol (too often I see fans blame the company for anything that goes wrong, but then credit the idols for everything that goes right – the double standard bugs me haha)
I’ve really been enjoying Kepler’s “Up!” lately!
What are some of the challenges that come with being a Youtuber?
It is important to be self-disciplined
How did you start your channel and what made you do so?
I originally started out doing dance covers! I had actually been dancing for a few years and I thought I was a great dancer (turns out I wasn’t 😂😅)…. so yeah, I decided to share one of my dance videos one day, and that’s how my channel started! Eventually one of my dance videos went viral, and I decided to take that opportunity to also expand to making documentary-style content!

What are your plans for the future?
I am currently planning one of my biggest projects yet – becoming a member of a girl group for a week! It is expected to take place in early 2023. I am super excited about the experience and I hope it’s something my viewers will also look forward to! I wanted to thank my Plofessors for supporting my channel 💕 Being able to pursue your passions as your full time job is such a great privilege, and I honestly wake up everyday feeling so grateful to my subscribers for giving me this opportunity to be a full time content creator.
