XR (엑스알) was a South Korean duo under P.I.G (Progressive Idol Generation) Entertainment. The project started in November 2002, and the lineup was formed in 2004. The lineup consisted of Yoonjung and Hyeran. The group released their debut full album TECHNO SENSATION on March 16, 2005. The group silently disbanded sometime later in 2005.

– The agency recruited rapper Hyeran during late 2004 right before recording the debut album. They shifted gears toward a female dance duo in order to maximize the distinct characteristics of both vocals and rap.
– Hyeran was first scouted through another agency’s audition during her second year of middle school and began her training as a singer.
– With album preparations falling through time after time, she decided to transition into a backup dancer for a brief amount of time, until she was selected to be a member of XR.
