Synopsis:
Present-day South Korea has collapsed into a dystopian version of reality, where poverty and crimes are rampant in society. Titular ‘Devil Judge’ Kang Yohan (Ji Sung) is presented vaguely as either friend or foe, using a TV show courtroom to sentence criminals and give unusual punishments with the aid of citizens’ votes. At the request of his mentor, rookie Judge Kim Gaon (Jinyoung) joins the courtroom to try and solve this enigma and figure out the head judge’s true intentions, with the help of his closest friend, Police Officer Yoon Soo Hyun (Park Gyuyoung). Along the way, the seemingly unconnected crimes on the show slowly start to unravel and lead them to the corporate social responsibility foundation, and its director, Jung Sun Ah (Kim Minjung). Pasts will be revealed. Is it for revenge or justice? Kim Gaon has to make his choice, whether to be with or against Kang Yohan.
