timelesz (タイムレス), formerly known as Sexy Zone (セクシーゾーン), is a 8-member Japanese boy group under STARTO ENTERTAINMENT and Over The Top Records. The group consists of Takuto Teranishi, Fuma Kikuchi, Yoshitaka Hara, Shori Sato, So Matsushima, Masaki Hashimoto, Shuto Inomata, and Taiki Shinozuka. The group was formed on September 29, 2011, as a 5-member group and debuted on November 16, 2011, with their first single, Sexy Zone.
Background Information: Following Johnny & Associates‘ sexual abuse scandal, the group was moved to STARTO ENTERTAINMENT and chose to rebrand. As of April 1, 2024, the group changed their name to “timelesz” and held auditions for new members.
Group Name Meaning:
Sexy Zone (2011-2024): Inspired by the sexiness of Michael Jackson.
timelesz (2024-present): Named after their song “timeless,” which was the the last song written by all five members. The “sz” stands for Sexy Zone, so timelesz will carry on the history, dreams, and feelings of Sexy Zone.
