They debuted on November 7, 2003, with their first single album, NEWS ニッポン (NEWS Nippon). The group was formed in 2003 with 9 members; Tomohisa Yamashita, Koyama Keiichiro, Ryo Nishikido, Masuda Takahisa, Hiroki Uchi, Shigeaki Kato, Yuya Tegoshi, Kusano Hironori, and Takahiro Moriuchi.
