– He was born in Seongnam, Gyeonggi, a satellite city of Seoul, South Korea.
– Family: Parents, two older brothers.
– Education: Hanlim Multi Art School, Sunae Middle School.
– Jongup became interested in dancing while he was in high school. Dancing was giving him comfort and he even started pursuing it by even going to tournaments. While being on stage he felt fascinated and opted to become a professional performer. He then auditioned for TS Entertainment where he was accepted and set to join their new boy group at the time.
– A year prior B.A.P.’s debut he appeared in SECRET‘s ‘Shy Boy’, ‘Starlight Moonlight’ and Bang & Zelo’s ‘Never Give Up’ MV’s.
– He was a trainee for one and a half years in total.
– One of his biggest musical influences and role models is Chris Brown.
– He served as the main dancer and lead vocalist of B.A.P from January 26, 2012 to February 18, 2019, when his contract with TS Ent. expired and he decided not to renew it. All B.A.P members have hinted the possibility of future reunion under a different name and of course different agency.
– Jongup can also rap; he has rapped in some of his solo songs such as ‘Now’ and ‘Try My Luck’.
