Road to Kingdom Profile: Sequel to ‘Queendom’ Survival Show
Road to Kingdom is the sequel/spin-off to the reality survival show “Queendom”, it will feature groups that are yet to receive their first win on a music show* and will then have a further show, “Kingdom”. Kingdom will feature famous male K-Pop groups– only the winning team from “Road To Kingdom” will join “Kingdom”.
The seven groups that will be participating are PENTAGON, ONF, Golden Child, The Boyz, VERIVERY, ONEUS and TOO.
*Two groups, The Boyz and Golden Child received their first wins in 2019.
Jang Sung Kyu and Lee Da Hee will be MCing the show, the same hosts as on “Queendom“.
Road to Kingdom aims to highlight “lesser-known” K-Pop groups, allowing them to demonstrate their skills and potential. In the same style as Queendom, the show will follow the seven groups as they compete against each other and release music on streaming sites simultaneously. However, where the groups will be competing in four rounds, two groups will be eliminated during the show.
The first group to be eliminated will be the one with the lowest cumulative score from the first and second rounds, the second group to be eliminated will be the group with the lowest cumulative score after the third round.
There is also the possibility that two groups may go on to compete in “Kingdom”. During the live finale, the group with the highest score will also have the chance to go to Kingdom, not just the group with the highest cumulative score (only one group will go to “Kingdom” if these groups are the same).
