Hello Project is a Japanese female idol collection currently managed by Up-Front Promotion. While its roots are in the 1997 auditions for a female Sharam Q vocalist that occurred via ASAYAN, it was not until January 26, 1998 that the collection officially started with the opening of the Hello! fanclub by Morning Musume and Heike Michiyo.

Note 3 (*): The original Country Musume group was formed in 1999 by Aomori-based producer Tanaka Yoshitake and later moved to Hello Project around the end of 2000 with Tsunku taking over the group’s production and adding the Morning Musume members at that time to it; from 2009 to 2014, it was inactive due to Satoda Mai being the only member but became active again after she became the supervisor for the Country Girls revival group.

Note 4 (**): Melon Kinenbi left Hello Project in 2009 and then released another album before disbanding in 2012.
