-She was born in Busan, South Korea.
-She’s christian (protestant).
-She went to Busan Arts College and Pohang Marine Science High School.
-She started her career in 2000 as part of Apro dance team and was a back up dancer of artist like Eun Jiwon, Lee Hyori or Baek Jiyoung. Later she became a solo artist known for her strong voice and sexy moves.
-Gilgun had her debut in 2004 with the single “My Name Is KG”.
-In 2014 a dispute about her contract with her and her agency, Soul Shop Entertainment, started because of no new releases scheduled for her after the agency’s management was changed. They terminated the contract in April 2015.
-In 2016, she released a new song called “내아래” (“Below Me”), also known as “Not a Chance”, under OGAM Entertainment. This was her first comeback after 9 years.
