The group was first introduced in November 2014 as THE 5tion, featuring a five-member lineup that included former pre-debut member JB. They officially debuted under this name on December 23, 2015, with their first single, ‘You Are My.’ In February 2017, the group underwent a rebrand and adopted their current name. D.tion ceased their group activities in September 2020 mainly due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
