– Was born in Dangjin, South Chungcheong Province, South Korea.
– Studied at Seoul Institute of the Arts, Kyonggi University as well as Chung-Ang University.
– Family consists of Father (Cha Jae-wan), Mother (Choi Su-min), and Brother (Cha Ji-hyeon).
– His father was an assistant director for special effects at KBS, his mother is a retired voice-over artist and his brother is a Film Producer.

– He issued a formal statement of apology and withdrew from his shows.
– In 2011, Cha confessed on the SBS talk show “Healing Camp” that he suffers from a panic disorder.
– In 2020, Cha was cast in a new tvN variety show “Hometown Flex” with Lee Seung-gi, which two “Seoul Bumpkins” travel outside Seoul and experience life by going on local tours guided by celebrities from their hometown.
