THE ORIGIN – A, B, Or What?: Where Are They Now?
The Origin – A, B, Or What? (디 오리진; also shortened as The Origin) was a 2022 survival program created by IST Entertainment in association with its parent company, Kakao Entertainment, and Sony Music Entertainment Japan. It aired on MBN, Kakao TV and 1theK YouTube channel on March 19, 2022, every Saturday timeslot for eight episodes. There were 13 contestants that range from 2002 to 2005 where only 7 will be able to make it to the final lineup. In the finale on May 7, 2022, the show announced the final 7 members who would debut as ATBO.

— He was eliminated in episode 5 after being voted off by the judges in the survival balance round, but on June 17, 2022, IST Entertainment announced that Won Bin would be debuting in the group in replacement of Yang Donghwa.

*Left The Group Rank-6 (Debut) – Yang Donghwa
— On June 13, 2022, IST Entertainment announced that he would not be a part of the group’s lineup after his past misconduct when he was a student surfaced online.
— He recently opened social media and was regularly posting.
— He got moved to Bluedot Entertainment where he would be working as a producer and soloist
— He debuted as soloist on February 18, 2024 with his digital single “Blackout”.
Eliminated Contestants:
Episode 9 (Final Round) – Choi Jinwook
— He left IST Entertainment and regularly post’s on social media.
Episode 9 (Final Round) – Jeong Junho
— He left IST Entertainment and recently opened social media and was regularly posting.
— He signed under Nomad Entertainment, where he got revealed in first dance cover released for the boy group on December 11, 2023, his concept photo later got released on December 19, 2023, making him confirmed member of the boy group NOMAD.
— He debuted in boy group NOMAD on February 28, 2024 with the EP “Nomad”.
Episode 9 (Final Round) – Kim Minseo
— He left IST Entertainment and recently opened social media.
— In January 2024, he was revealed as a contestant on Mnet’s reality survival show Build Up : Vocal Boy Group Survivor. The show began airing on January 26, and on its finale, aired on March 29, it was revealed that he would be debuting in the resulted boy group B.D.U.
Episode 5 (Survival Balance) – Park Jaehoon
— He left IST Entertainment not much has been heard from him.
Episode 2 (PR Balance) – Kang Daehyun
— He left IST Entertainment and has signed as an actor under Urban Works.
— He posted regularly on social media.
— On February 20, 2023, he was introduced as a contestant of the MBC survival show “My Teenage Boy/Fantasy Boys” as Urban Works trainee.
— He was participating in the MBC Korean survival show “My Teenage Boy/Fantasy Boys” where he was eliminated in Final Episode.
— He left his label Urban Works silently and got signed under DSP Media an an actor and trainee.
— He was regularly posting on his Instagram but later deleted it, he got moved to merged label RBW where on July 19, 2023, it was revealed, through RBW’s publicy discolsed information, that he is part of their upcoming boy group RBW Boys.
— He will make guest appearance at RBW’s first family concert “RBW 2023 Summer Fes ~Over The Rainbow~” in Japan on August 19 and 20, 2023. The following day, RBW Japan revealed that RBW Boys will be performing under the team name RBW Trainee New ID.
— NXD released their pre-debut special kit “Jump” on April 18, 2024.
