The Egobomb (디 이고밤), formerly known as EgoBomb (이고밤), was a South Korean male duo under Sniper Sound, composed of members Don Ash and Special One. Branded as “Hybrid Kids”, a fusion of K-pop idols and musicians, the duo aimed to blur the lines between mainstream K-pop and authentic hip-hop. They began their underground career in October 2011, performing at clubs in Hongdae to build their presence. They made their official debut as EgoBomb on January 9, 2013, with the single album Throw It Away (갖다버려). In January 2014 they parted ways with Sniper Sound following a dispute with the CEO, MC Sniper. This led to a 23-month-long lawsuit, alleging mismanagement and unfulfilled contractual obligations, including a lack of proper compensation and credit for their music-related activities. The members temporarily suspended their activities until their reunion in 2015 under Platinum Music with the new name The Egobomb. Following another hiatus due to mandatory military duties, they regrouped again in 2017 for a brief return before ultimately silently disbanding sometime in late 2017 – early 2018.
