S (에스; also Romanized as es) was a four-member South Korean girl group under S Music. The lineup consisted of Hyunyoung, Joohyun, Eunyoung, and Yoomei. S made their stage debut and official debut on September 3, 2001, with the song “없니” (X). The group later released their album Attention on October 12, 2001. They disbanded in the middle of 2002 as the plans on releasing a second album fell through.

Group Name Meaning: The S stands for the words “sexy” and “smart.” Additionally, the group’s name means that the group wants to shed a rigid image and approach fans with a smooth, soft, and feminine charm curved smoothly like the letter S.
