He became well known for his supporting roles in “I’m Sorry, I Love You” (2004) and “Time Between Dog and Wolf” (2007), and his leading roles in “Smile, You” (2009) and “Heartless City” (2013).

-He was born in Gwangmyeong-si, South Korea.
-His father is Jung Eu-young, veteran TV director, he also has a younger brother.
-His father was initially against his son pursuing acting, and he defied his father’s wishes and moved out of the family home.
-He had food poisoning and developed a traumatic experience which made him stay away from pork and beef.
-He has changed his dietary restriction to include beef for his girlfriend Choi Sooyoung (Life Bar ep.26).
-He studied theater at Chung-Ang University, and became roommates with Ha Jung-woo, who was an older theater major. Ha became a huge influence in Jung’s life, and Jung later said he decided to become an actor.
-In 2003, he auditioned for KBS’s actors and passed thus signed a contact with SidusHQ.
-He made his acting debut in “5 Stars” produced by SidusHQ.
-His first major break came in 2004 melodrama series “I’m Sorry, I Love You”, playing the supporting role of an actor who belatedly falls for his childhood friend and has an unusually close relationship with his mother.
-In 2008 he and actor Yoo Ha-jun became business partners and launched the internet shopping mall “Double Bill”
-On November 30, 2010, he enlisted as an active duty soldier with the 306th draft.
-He was discharged on September 4, 2012, with a commendation from the Army Chief of Staff.
-In January 2014, his agency confirmed his relationship with Girls’ Generation member Choi Sooyoung, since early 2013, as they met through an acquaintance and knew of each other by the same church and university.
