Otyken (pronounced as oh-too-ken) is a Siberian folk fusion band under Khangurai. The band currently consists of Azyan, Hakaida, Tsveta, Ach, Muna, Achanay, Kys and Hara. It was formed in 2015, and debuted on June 5, 2018 with the album Otyken.

Otyken Facts:
– The band was formed at Krasnoyarsk Museum of Honey & Ethnography by its CEO and beemaster Andrei Chernetsov-Medonos.
– The idea of an ethnic band was proposed by Japanese delegation to Krasnoyarsk forests, where they were astonished by aboriginal music.
– The band’s lineup is comprised of musicians from aboriginal ethnicities in Siberia.
– The word Otyken means ‘a place of power, where warriors put their blades’.
– They sing in Chulym, Khakassian, Dolgan and Russian.
– Until their debut they had been playing only folk songs already known to the public.
