He began his career in 2009 creating Vocaloid works under the name Hachi, later debuting under his real name in 2012 with the self-sung album ‘Diorama‘. Known for his poetic lyricism, genre-blending sound, and distinctive hand-drawn artwork, Yonezu has become one of Japan’s most influential contemporary artists, with multiple chart-topping releases and millions of physical and digital sales. His 2022 single ‘Kick Back‘, used as the opening theme for ‘Chainsaw Man‘, became the first Japanese-language song to earn RIAA Gold certification in the United States.
