MAXIMUM THE HORMONE (キシマム ザ ホルモン), also known as MTH, is a Japanese metal band formed in Hachiōji, Tokyo in 1998. Their genres consist of nu-metal, alternative metal and metalcore. They released their first album, “A.S.A. Crew” on August 29, 1999.
The band have been compared to Armenian-American metal band System Of A Down frequently over the years, with fans saying that MTH’s music has a similar style, as well as their eclectic nature. MTH has not only toured in Japan, but in other countries as well, being guests for Enter Shikari during their UK Tour, appearing at Knotfest, a music festival in the US created by Slipknot, in both 2014 and 2017 and appearing at Hellfest in France, as well as other countries. They have also shared stages with bands like Metallica and The Offspring.
