I could be wrong, but wouldn't Korea also be more on the US side of WW2. Because they went through so much shit with Japan. And Japan was in cahoots with Germany.

the fact that some stans are defending her and bashing the people who were offended and the people who have a problem with what she did... what in the actual hell?? i think I might be sick. how could you defend something like this?? You are just as horrible if you are defending their actions and saying "they didn't know". they knew damn well what they were doing, there's no excuse at all.
This is really the first time I have held my groups accountable for something that is personally hurting me.

Sowon of Gfriend recently uploaded and delete photos of her posing with a Nazi soldier statue.
She commented that the photos had been taken on some kind of set.
There has been no apology released by either Sowon, Source Music, or Big Hit.
This posting has brought up past references to nazisim by gfriend.
According to SinB, Sowon is saved as Kitler in her phone. It is a combination of Sowon's name (Kim Sojung) and Hitler.
We all know this is bad, unless your a white supremacist or some shit. Hitler and his Nazis are responsible for the deaths of 6 million Jewish people and countless others.
He promoted his ideals of the Aryan race and used this to attempt to take over the world. He was a huge contribute to the cause of WW2.
Now why is this particularly upsetting to me? I am Jewish. Not only that, but my family has history with the Holocaust. My grandfather was a doctor in the army during WW2. He was originally from Russia and spoke it along with German and English. One of the more traumatic yet heroic moments of his time at war was when he helped to liberate the Buchenwald concentration camp. There he talked to other Jewish people who were incarcerated because of their beliefs. He had to see the horrors that were there and hear stories of stuff horrible events.
My grandfather is a hero to me. And this post kinda shits all over his actions, and as a whole the struggling of my people.
We already still endure antisemitism in the 21st century. I do not need to see it in the place I feel safe, Kpop.
I love Gfriend so much, but if no apology is released I am not sure if I will be able to stan them anymore.

oh wow... i actually didn't know this until i saw your post. this makes me kinda sad honestly. i love gfriend's music, but this isn't ok at all. i really hope they issue an apology, or i don't think i'll be able to continue to stan gfriend anymore...
hmmm... i wouldn't exactly want sowon's career to be destroyed and i wouldn't hate on her for what she did, but i won't be able to like gfriend as much as before. i'll probably still continue to listen to their music, but i don't think i'll be able to stan them anymore, especially if no apology is released. i don't have any connections to wwii or any jewish lineage, so i can't exactly speak for the people who were offended, but this is definitely not okay.

Honestly, the apology was so half assed. Until Sowon (my former Gfriend bias along with Eunha) apologizes, along with SinB and possibly Yuju (I believe she was the one who sung in an OST which had lyrics referring to the H*locaust), I definitely agree with them being cancelled. OT4 Gfriend until apologies are made.

Unintentional mistake? I think making jokes about H•tler and posing with a N•zi wasnt some cute, ditzy mistake. Plus, wasnt Korea involved in the whole entire ww2? Even if it wasnt, they still would learn about ww2 in school. Everyone does, for gods sake. The problem isnt with them not being perfect beings, its being insensitive and making jokes about such a disgusting thing that ruined so many peoples lives and killed innocent people.
