Like shipping personally makes me a little uncomfortable, especially the extent that kpop fans take it. The popular ship, Meanie, actually caused the people in it to distance from each other because they hated the constant shipping. And like don't even get me started on ships between people from different groups. Those are just so weird because 90% of the time they don't even know each other

Some fans even took it to cause fanwars because occasionally the idols they "shipped" getting paired with someone else in variety/ reality shows .. it is hella weird. The whole " [...] idol is gonna get jealous " " Noo he can't be with [...] idol" " Why is not there 2 cameras filming. I don't wanna see that other guy"

i think i replied to this before, but no. i mean honestly it's more normal than fans shipping themselves with idols. at least these idols actually have some sort of relationship with one another, and know them. it's no harm done if you don't take it to a bad extent

I don't think shipping is weird at all...to a certain extent of course. I think shipping is fine as long as one doesn't start thinking that it must be true and start becoming delusional. Other than that, shipping is just a really fun way to look at friendships or interactions between close members.
When people start fanwars and literal death threats because their "ship isn't sailing" i find that absolutely ridiculous. Shipping isn't meant to be applied to reality. It's for fun, for daydreams, for fanfiction, but not for creeps.

If they’re really really really good best friends and interact on an almost daily basis and people find comfort in seeing that pair happy together, as long as they’re not being malicious or harmful then I personally don’t see an issue with it.

It’s when it’s becomes a forced or creepy thing. Pairings that don’t interact or interact hardly at all, and people who harass idols in the comments about it. While some idols might be able to find a laugh out of it (for example Seunghee from CLC who claims herself that “Sornhee is real”), a lot of idols won’t like it and they shouldn’t have to be involved with it

if someone takes it too far, i find it a little weird and i'm not really that comfortable with it. Ig you can say, it kinda provokes me. Although, normal ships that are not taken too seriously to the point it wouldn't make the idols too uncomfortable is not as bad.

it literally is so uncomfortable, not just for non-shippers, but for the idols too. like it can sometimes just seperate idols from other idols? (eg. friends/members in group)
like i get using the ship names (yoonkook, wheesa, yungi) cause you're talking abt both and you don't wanna type "yoongi and jungkook, wheein and hwasa, yunho and mingi) cause like no, i'm lazy.
but yeah, no. and in some cases (cough cough) it can get the idols in big trouble, when there are actual rumors and/or proven to be true? like, i'm not gonna name her, but there's a v hated idol, and it sucks cause she's called slurs bc she's dated while being an idol? and it's like- she's human and she wants to have a love life?? like stfu omg you don't have a chance with her so calm down
and in hyudawns case, they literally got removed from their labels (nobody said why, but there was literally no other reason)

the way I think of it is that from the perspective of the idols, it must be so weird. like if they see a comment shipping them with one of their really close teammates, it must be so awkward and uncomfortable. maybe not in all cases, but some fans take the whole shipping thing WAY too far.

same if its platonic shipping I think its fine but its up to the people that you are shipping to determine if they are comfortable with it or not.

I same, think that shipping is weird, but like its fine as long as you make it friendly and not like really creepy and inappropriate that is what makes me pissed off. some idols could get seriously uncomfortable of shipping and some might don't even know em. I feel like its better if we kept ships polite and nice and please stop photo shopping idols together just because they look cute together or even look suspicious its still a no. I think that shipping is okay, but only when you think of the groups/idols you ship as close friends, not when you say that they're dating–that's just disgusting and horrible. I ship Chaelisa and Jensoo but I only ship them because I think they really match with each other in style and personality and things like that. Not the weird type where you say they actually love each other. So shipping shouldn't go too overboard.
