BTS will not be exempt from Korea’s military service, the government military system has confirmed.

It has been confirmed by the government military system that BTS will NOT be exempt from the mandatory military service in Korea, however the official statement regarding this will be announced by the end of this month.

Usually, the military service exemptions are given to medalist athletics or winners who won the traditional music events.

Jin is expected to start his military duty first if there are no changes that can be made with the system itself. However, fans are hoping that the group could enlist altogether or around the same in order to reduce the time it can take for the group to make a comeback.

I don’t think they should enlist together just to reduce the time for a comeback because that’s not fair to other groups that have had members enlist one by one, and they still did comebacks.

Fans will just have to get over it and either accept BTS with one less member. It’s not the end of the world, they’re going to be okay

i think they should just go like any group. it's something very big in korea as
far as i'm concerned, so simply because they are the biggest known koreans
i don't think they should be exempted. that would be rude to other kpop idols.
but that's just my opinion, i'm sure they choose the right thing to do in the end.

Like, even if one or two or three members are at it, the others can maybe go and try to release solos and such, so it would be an opportunity to the rest to experiment their own way too.

Yeah, I think it’s better if they did it that way as well. If the group wanted to promote as all of the members even though some will be enlisting in the military, then the remaining ones should be better off with doing solos, covers etc.
