What happened to Lee KaYeon?
Note: if you go back to the CALLA thread to check everything I'm saying here, you will see no mention of any of this. This is because I decided all of this recently!

In 2021, MeHoney Entertainment held a trainee showcase in order to hype up the general public about their upcoming artists. During the showcase, seven male trainees and nine female trainees performed, and out of the total sixteen, ten of them have now debuted, five of the male trainees becoming members of SPIRE and three of the female trainees becoming members of CALLA.

After the MeHoney Entertainment showcase, speculation arose online due to the fact one of the female trainees, Kayeon, who performed in a group with current CALLA member Hyunjoo, seemed to resemble the CEO of MeHoney Entertainment, Lee Jinyoung, quite strongly. After some digging, netizens were able to first confirm Kayeon's surname was in fact Lee, and then that she was actually the daughter of the CEO of MeHoney Entertainment.

Debate spread online, due to the fact Lee Kayeon was bound to benefit from nepotism due to her father, and she would be guarenteed to debut in the next girl group under the company. However, a year later, when CALLA was announced to the public to have Hyunjoo, Daiyu (Sophia) and Yejoon from the showcase, as well as two trainees who had not been seen before, yet no Kayeon, the public was shocked. Why would the CEO not debut his own daughter? The gossip grew more upon learning from the CALLA members that the original team consisted of three other female trainees who failed to debut. Could one of them be Kayeon? But why would she be cut from the lineup?

Kayeon was born in 2003, making her 21 Korean age and 19 internationally. If she waited for MeHoney Entertainment to debut another group which could take at minimum four years, she would already be 25 in Korean age, and though MeHoney Entertainment is known for debuting older idols, many agree this age seems to push it a little. Yet the CEO has not mentioned anything about what would be happening to his daughter, and whether she was even still a trainee under his company.

The current popular theory is that Kayeon will debut solo sometime soon, and perhaps her father felt she ran the risk of being overshadowed in a group.

But what do you think? Will we get to see Lee Kayeon any time soon?

Are LR Entertainment Preparing For a New Girl Group?

Today was an exciting day for Fake-Kpop Fans all around, due to the fact treasured girl group Enchantress hit one year as a group and completed the first day of their World Tour. As expected, many known idols were seen in the audience to support the group.

Two of these known idols include two ex-members of LOVISA: Sumi (now a soloist), and Yubi, who is yet to debut. Fans think that Yubi may be in the process of re-debut though due to the concert.

LOVISA fans were disappointed to notice Sumi and Yubi were not sat together for the concert, nor interacted to the knowledge of the fans, as they were hoping to see the LOVISA members interact despite going their separate ways.

However, they did instead notice Yubi was sitting with two other girls. Fans are sure Yubi was actually attending the concert with the two due to the fact Yubi was seen holding their hands and talking to them throughout. Some LOVISA fans argued these two girls could've easily just been friends of Yubi who are not famous, hence why they were not recognisable. Others are sure these two girls must've been trainees from Yubi's new company, LR Entertainment.

LR Entertainment was also recently announced to be in a label unification called FortyForty Labels. Another company involved in this unity, MeHoney Entertainment, is home to a famous trainee due to her father being the CEO of said company: Lee Kayeon. Many fans have speculated the unification of these companies may have allowed for Kayeon to transfer to LR Entertainment and could therefore also be a member of their upcoming girl group if this is the case.

Does this mean there are now four possible trainees of LR Entertainment?

The MeHoney 2021 Showcase: Where Are They Now? (Girl Version)

In 2021, MeHoney Entertainment showed off nineteen of their trainees, nine female and ten male, ready for the upcoming debuts of their 2021 and 2022 groups. From the showcase, Soobin, Hideki, Rowan, Min and Jinhai from the male teams and Hyunjoo, Sophia and Yejoon from the female teams were able to become members of SPIRE and CALLA respectively. But what happened to the trainees who did not make their debut?

In our previous article, we discussed what happened to the five failed male trainees, now it's time to discuss the six failed female trainees.

Lim Minyoung (2001):
Lim Minyoung was in the Girl's Dance Team no.2, who performed Feel Special (TWICE). This team also had Sophia. After Minyoung failed to debut in CALLA, she joined [xxx] Company and in early 2023 she debuted in [xxx]. Since her debut, she has spoken about how she had actually been a part of Project Red, but had been cut. So far her group has seen moderate success. We wish her luck in the future

Kim Hayoung (2001):
Kim Hayoung was in the Girl's Dance Team no.1, who performed BOSS (Fifth Harmony). This team also had Hyunjoo. Around the time of SPIRE's debut, Hayoung left the company due to no longer wanting to persue idol life. She is now a YouTuber and creates Mukbang videos

Min Dawon (2002):
Min Dawon was in the Girl's Vocal Team, who performed Love Poem (IU). Min Dawon has also revealed she was in Project Red, however left the group due to wanting to persue acting. She made her acting debut in late 2022 in the drama 'xxx' under MeHoney's acting subsidary. After the FortyForty labels acquisition, MeHoney's acting subsidary closed and she was transferred to The Wren Media

Lee Kayeon (2003):
The biggest mystery surrounding the MeHoney trainees. The CEO of the company's daughter was in the Girl's Dance Team no.1 alongside Hyunjoo and Hayoung. Yet despite her nepotism privileges, she did not debut with CALLA. The main speculations of her whereabouts now is that she silently left the industry after a conflict with her father, she's still training under MeHoney Entertainment to be a soloist or that she was transferred to LR Entertainment after the recent acquisition, who are believed to be preparing a new girl group including ex-Lovisa member Yubi

Jiwon (2003?):
Jiwon was in the Girl's Dance Team no.2 with Sophia and Minyoung. Not much is known about her, including her surname and her exact birth year. So far it is unclear whether she is still under MeHoney Entertainment or whether she has silently left the industry

Gahyeon (2004?):
Gahyeon was in the Girl's Vocal Team with Dawon. Similarly to Jiwon, not much is known about her and whether she is still training or not
