Sm Entertainment and the owner, Lee Soo Man have confirmed that they are planning to host a global citizen’s concert in 2020 to fight poverty across the globe. He confirmed this at a meeting in which he had recently attended that helps to bring awareness to social poverty. The concerts will be held on 5 continents such as North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa. The venues and the dates are yet to be confirmed, and the concerts will be broadcasted for a total of 10 hours. Artists including EXO and several other American artists will be participating in each continent’s concert.

Lee Soo Man has finally stated on how he is honoured to be able to take part in this event.

“On behalf of the continent of Asia, I am proud to be able to partner with the Global Citizens to address problems such as poverty and climate change in the world that we live in.
When I started SM Entertainment 25 years ago, my goal was to create a K-Pop artist that can inspire and bring together young people around the world. And right now, K-Pop is delivering hope and inspiration to people around the world. SM Entertainment and I are trying to inspire young people in the wider corners of the world.
With our artists and special platform to represent Asia, we believe we can help achieve the goals of Global Citizens.”

i can see what they're trying to do, but i also see the companies/artists profiting from it
but im glad that kpop is included to show its much more than just a "cringy music taste" and that they are actually changing the world
Precisely. I also think that it’s a good thing that they are trying to prove that kpop is actually a full of many different genres. Then that way, the locals may not be able to talk shit about it again or something.

I really hope that they do haha, even the locals on stan twitter are one the worst people I’ve ever seen like it makes me sick seeing such hate comments being targeted towards kpop in general as well as some groups, including comments such as “they look like girls” “why are they’re wearing makeup” etc. like seeing these types of comments really piss me off, but I also report them everytime I see such comments like that. :)
