The heavy thud of the door echoed like a gavel, sealing the three of you in the suffocating silence of the hall. The air grew colder, smelling of turpentine and old secrets. Hyunjin didn't flinch at the sound; instead, he reached out, his fingers hovering just inches from the swirling voids where your eyes should have been on the canvas.
"Trust is a fragile thing to ask for in a place built on lies, Minho," Hyunjin murmured, finally turning his head. His eyes were wide, reflecting the pale moonlight like polished glass. "You talk of freedom, yet you’ve been following her through these halls like a shadow. Are you protecting her, or are you just waiting for the right moment to claim the frame for yourself?"
Lee Know’s jaw tightened, his hand finding your wrist—not with a squeeze of aggression, but with a grounding, frantic heat. "I'm trying to get her out of this fever dream you've built. Look at the walls, Hyunjin. The building is feeding on your obsession."
As if on cue, the swirling patterns in the portrait began to bleed, the dark ink trickling down the painted cheeks like obsidian tears. The floorboards beneath you didn't just groan; they rippled. The "unseen pressure" Lee Know mentioned manifested as dark, vine-like shadows creeping out from under the other draped canvases, snaking toward your boots.
"The moon is setting, Y/N," Lee Know hissed, his voice dropping to a desperate low as he tugged you toward the shadows of the back corridor. "If you stay here, you become part of the gallery. If you come with me, we run until the sun breaks. Decide. Now."
Hyunjin stepped toward you, his hand outstretched, palm up—an invitation to stay in the beautiful, frozen nightmare he’d crafted just for you. "The world outside is chaotic, Y/N. Here, I can make you eternal. I can make you perfect."
The choice felt like a physical tear in your chest. One offered a terrifying, uncertain escape into the dark; the other offered a haunting, breathless devotion that would never let you go.​

Y/N almost started crying. "Y/N WHAT IS IT?!" Lee know said alarmed. Y/N pointed in front of her, Hyunjin standing right there. But something was off. It didn't seem like the Hyunjin from earlier, he was scared and was out of breath. Lee know thought it was Hyunjin, but even he knew that he wasn't the Hyunjin from earlier. "Hyunjin?" Y/N asked tearful. " HYUNJIN!" Y/N ran towards Hyunjin. Suddenly Lee know yelled. " Y/N DON'T MOVE!" Something fell. It was the street light. They were all falling one by one. Hyunin ran towards Y/N and Lee know. Lee know knew it wasn't the Hyunjin from earlier so he reached out his hand and grabbed Hyunjin's hand. They were all running until they saw Hyunjin........ the Hyunjin from earlier.​

so the hyunjin from the beginning of the story isn't the real one but the hyunjin who appeared later in the story is the real one. It will make more sense in the next chapter. I am writing it rn
