Also, if you're ever texting someone who's Korean, they may put something that looks like this "ㅋㅋㅋ" with some of the happy emoticons. Or you might even see this on memes and stuff. It's supposed to be a laughing sound! I was really confused the first time I saw it when one of my friends texted it to me along with an emoticon!

they also sometimes use "ㅎㅎ" which is kinda like a chuckle i guess? "ㅋㅋㅋㅋ" is often used in reality shows as on-screen commentary when something funny is happening lol

also, koreans really like to use abbreviations when texting, for example: "괜찮아" (which means "okay", "fine") can be written as "ㄱㅊ" (first letters of the first two syllabes) - this happens very often with different words

a korean emoticon i really like is OTL - it represents a person on their hands and knees with their head hung low, it can be used to express defeat, disappointment or tiredness
