Do you dislike popular groups?

Just for the sake of disliking? Like stray away urself from it because of their popularity or fame they reached

honestly i just like any group that makes good music,no matter if they're popular or not. i think ppl should stop worrying about popularity and just focus on supporting their faves.

Not the groups themselves but usually the fandom. If that makes sense.

For me it's not that they gained popularity it's that they gain a fanbase that makes it impossible for other groups to get out there or succeed. Fanbases can be extremely powerful.
So like an example for me was BTS winning everything this past award season, and some of the awards they won should have gone to other groups, like best male dance group performance should have gone to Seventeen at Mama.
It's more of a resentment thing I guess.
But I'll really listen to any group who's music I like

i agree and see ur point, more popular groups are more likely to win awards with their fandoms

I'm going off of what @Lost_in_the_Dream said because I agree. I used to like them but I got tired of their fans being annoying or toxic. I also got tired of them winning every single award show.

Truly. I have no hate towards BTS themselves, but the fans ruined it for me. I also agree they didn't need all those awards, there are much more deserving groups....but yeah, no hate to the boys, I listen to their older stuff still, but their fans are delulu

Then how about ignoring or blocking the toxic fans? Toxic fans are going to be everywhere trust me. Can't really remove then but we can filter them out by blocking them

i agree, i rlly like bts but some of the fans need to chill & give other groups a chance. a lot of bts stans call themselves "kpop stans" but only like bts. i will admit it, i used to be one of those fans that only liked bts but i have grown from that time lol

Yeah I love all their stuff from Boy in Luv-DNA, especially The Most Beautfiul Moment in life era, and I still like some of their recent stuff like their solos and some b-sides.

For me I don’t think about the popularity. I pay attention to the music. Why waste your time trying to fit in with the popular groups when you may not even like the music. It’s just not your cup of tea. No offense but the awards could have gone to other groups.

You mean, dislike 'em because they're popular? Nah, that'd be silly and petty; like Kawaii says, I like or dislike the music on its own merits. But I do admit to sometimes being baffled by which groups become super popular.
Obvious examples for me are BTS and Blackpink. They seem nice, and they're obviously good at what they do, but... what they do hasn't really grabbed me, and I don't have the time or inclination to try and get into groups that don't grab me. Twice, on the other hand, did grab me. I don't even try to explain it.

i don't think i necessarily dislike a group bc they're popular but i might dislike their fans for equating popularity with quality. (x or y is popular bc they're the best therefore if a or b are unpopular its bc they suck, with disregard for other factors)

It seems rather silly for disliking a group based on its popularity. For example i used to only stan BTS and was a very passionate fan and i watched them grow in popularity. However im not as big of a fan anymore because i found groups i like more just in general and it has nothing to do with the narrative of "bts are too popular it feels like they dont belong to me anymore"

I would not use the word dislike for this but the thing is that I tend to not go and search for their stuffs that much but musically I listen to all of them no matter how popular they are but lesser known groups I feel like needs more support from us at least to stay around the industry so I feel like I search out for them more.
