BigHit Entertainment plans to acquire Pledis Entertainment

Big Hit Entertainment has officially confirmed on January 13 that it is acquiring Pledis Entertainment.

Similar to the acquisition of Gfriend’s label, Source Music in 2019, Korean News outlet Sports DongA reported that Big Hit was in the process of acquiring Pledis Entertainment.

However Pledis Entertainment will continue to exist and operate as an independent label, like Source Music. But if both companies move forward with the acquisition, then they (especially Pledis) will most likely to move into Big Hit Entertainment’s new building in May 2020.​

But, I don't think that this is good. This is my personal view. As BTS is going to the military, Seventeen is there to take BTS's place. I think when BTS is not there, Seventeen will get the popularity which BTS got. I think Bighit is worried about that, and is trying to get Seventeen to their company, then ofc, Bighit will get the popularity again as the 1st of the big three entertainments. I think this is based on smthing like business. I'm sorry if I made anyone heartbroken. But, this is how I and my friends who are Carats think!

I know Pledis didn't treat well to Seventeen since their trainee days. But as a Carat, I see that everything is going well to Seventeen. They are always like toys to these entertainment companies, and I'm worried about them a lot!. I think every Carat is thinking the same as me!

You know that koreaboo is known to be posting very misleading and unreliable articles/sources right? I reckon that Soompi is the one that everyone should rely on since they post articles that are true/official and not sources that can easily trigger fans and that are not news related unlike koreaboo and allkpop.

This seems like a bad idea all around. Sure, Pledis is trash, but maybe BH should focus on TXT instead of scooping up another entertainment company's groups.
