Starship Entertainment shares update on legal action taken in July and reveals future plans

On November 4th, Starship Entertainment released a statement regarding Monsta X’s Shownu’s manipulated photos that were spread online before they took legal action against it.

Hello, this is Starship Entertainment. We express deep gratitude to the fans who show lots of interest and love for the artists of Starship Entertainment. We previously announced plans for legal action regarding the spread of false information, malicious comments, sexual harassment, and defamatory posts. Afterwards, through active tips sent in by fans and our own monitoring, we collected posts with false information, sexual harassment, personal attacks, and defamation that are spreading online and on social media, and we signed delegation contracts with the law firms IL and Shin & Kim. We submitted legal complaints on some of these malicious commenters on July 4. Suspects who wrote malicious posts were specified through investigation by the investigative agency, and some of them have been forwarded to the prosecution with recommendation for indictment. All confirmed suspects will be punished through the due process, and we plan on carrying out civil action in addition to criminal punishment. In addition, photos that were illegally manipulated in relation to Shownu have been spreading online and on social media recently. We plan on reporting the person who initially posted the photos and those who spread them to the police, and we will take immediate and strong action through our legal representative with a civil claim for damages on the basis of violating the Act on Special Cases Concerning the Punishment, etc. of Sexual Crimes, circulating material deemed pornographic by the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc., and violating personal rights. Through continuous monitoring, we will continue to focus all of our efforts into protecting our agency’s artists to prevent additional harm, and we will continue to take strong legal action without settlement. We thank all fans who love and support our artists, and we ask for fans to continuously show interest for the protection of the artists’ rights. Why is Starship getting attacked this year, What is going on???

I’m not sure if you know much about what’s going on with Monsta X recently, so basically Wonho and Minhyuk were hated for their #MeToo controversy, and then Wonho was falsely accused of not owing money or something in which the rumour later on turned out to be false. The false accusations were posted by some idiot named Jung Da Eun who likes to seek attention. Da Eun’s girlfriend was even involved in the false accusations and also targeted Wonho. Then both of them started posting other stuff that Wonho did wrong in the past such as the marijuana use. All of these controversies have then lead Wonho to leave Monsta X because he thinks that he wasn’t good enough towards the fans due to the controversy, and so many monbebes were begging for Starship to bring back Wonho since he left. Then when Starship terminated Wonho’s contrast, that was when the entire monbebe fandom were begging Starship to bring Wonho back by trending hashtags on twitter throughout the whole day (this happened a couple of days in a row actually), and even lead a Korean monbebe to go to the police to file for a protest. They even wrote messages to Wonho on the post it notes and stick them onto the Starship Entertainment building. But unfortunately all of the notes were taken down. Also, Jung Da Eun’s girlfriend then posted something about Shownu. Yesterday or before yesterday?.. photos of Shownu wearing underwear while sleeping were spreading online and all over social media, so Starship had to take legal action against that.

Yah me too. But when Wonho he took a bit of my heart too. He didn't deserve what happened and it's upsetting to know it did happen. All we can do as the fans is support the group and be there for them when they need it the most
