A one-it (Wooseok stan mostly) that started the mocking hashtag on Jimin’s birthday have made many ARMYs in Korea and internationally very upset. The user has then written an apology letter to the fans and Jimin. However fans still weren’t happy with him/her as the apology letter wasn’t sincere enough. As a result, there were comments and messages that demanded a handwritten and genuine apology, so the user updated the apology letter which says:

“Hello this i Kikkik. I am truly sorry for writing an insincere apology letter through my memo pad on my phone. I know that my apology may not take away all the pain from ARMYs and X1 fans, but I am still truly sorry. I deserve all the hate that I am receiving due to something I posted without thinking about it. It is 100% my fault that this issue got as big as it did. It started as a small joke but after putting myself in the other person’s shoes I can see that I didn’t think through this well. I truly apologize to BTS’s Jimin for posting a mocking hashtag on your birthday. I will not step foot on Twitter and make sure that nothing like this ever happens again. I have nothing else to say except that I am sorry. The #HappyBirthdayGorila hashtag is without a doubt my entire fault. Since I am the one who started this, I will try my best to take down the trending tweet and help in BTS Jimin’s birthday tweets. I am truly reflecting on my mistake and apologize again to ARMYs. I am also sorry to X1 fans who were upset over my Twitter photo and profile. I know that many of you may still be angry while reading my apology letter. Once again, I am truly sorry for everything. I am also sorry that this letter is short. Thank you for reading.”

The user admitted that they were just joking around with his/her friends and didn’t think that it the hashtag would trend on twitter, even though it was deemed to be offensive. Fans comments:

It turns out that the one that started the hashtag was only 12 years old. But some people felt that age had nothing to do with the incident and that people should take responsibility for their actions.

Idk what they were trying to say by calling Jimin gorilla tbh, but this should really show that people need to think before they post things online. But also, I hope people don't bully this kid because that would be pretty hypocritical.
And plus, it can affect her mental health if she receives all the hate from angry fans

Yeah, some fans, and it can be said for any fandom not just ARMY, go very overboard in what they think is defense for their group. If she really is only 12 they should cut her some slack, she's already apologized and said it was an inappropriate joke, as long as she doesn't do it again everyone should just move on

Yeah cause moving on is more important than holding things back from the past just to target people or something like that.

Well even if they’ll remember it, they still shouldn’t be using that to attack the person anyway cause then it’ll affect the person’s reputation as well but it depends on how sensitive they are.
Yeah like if they have depression and anxiety then it could be really bad for them

I really wish One-Its weren't so problematic. X1 just debut and One-Its are becoming the ARMY of the 4th Gen of kpop. I'm scared people are gonna unstan X1 because of it.

I think that it was the right thing to do but I also hope that people won't go too hard on them... they are so young and their mental health can suffer a lot with a situation like this. Yes, they were wrong but already apologized so I really hope that stans will leave them alone,,,,
