Why is it special treatment? As I understand it, when they enlist is up to them...

Oh, no, if they don't have to enlist at all, that's totally special treatment.
But you suggest that it would still be special treatment if they enlisted at the same time, and I don't see how that works; They absolutely have to enlist by the time they're 28, but if the younger members want to go in earlier to cut down the whole group's time out of circulation, isn't it their prerogative to do so?

That’s fine, I just meant people saying they shouldn’t enlist because of their popularity outside of Korea and Asia as a whole.
