X1 is Officially Disbanding

It was revealed today that X1 will be disbanding after the Produce 101 voting scandal.
Representatives of each of the 11 members released this joint press release today:

“The X1 members and each of the agencies negotiated under the condition of unanimous agreement, but we could not come to an agreement, so we have decided on their disbandment.”

In addition to this members Hangyul and Dohyon released messages directed towards the fans.

Let's all wish X1's members, and all other individuals, good luck in the future and thank them for their hard work.

Also: IZ*ONE will be resuming there activities in the near future.

I think the reason IZ*ONE is staying together is because they have already been together for almost 2 years, while X1 debuted this past summer I believe.

No IZ*ONE debuted in October of 2018 (so more like a little over a year not 2) and X1 debuted in August of 2019, so about a year difference. IZ*ONE also already has had 2 comebacks and was just about to have another, while X1 only had Flash.

ok but like why just x1 and not izone? I LOVE BOTH GROUPS DONT GET ME WRONG but why punish one and not the other ESPECIALLY for something they had no control over. Make it make sense

It's actually because IZ*ONE already had a contract signed + the agencies all agreed to continue with them together as a group, whilst in X1 they were promoting without a contract and there were supposedly 2 out of the 9 agencies that didn't want to go on with the group promotions so they decided to disband.

It's sad that the members had no word in this and instead the agencies were the ones to take the decision... Not to mention that they are all apologizing as if it was their fault. Hurts to see them pay the price for others' actions.
