So my cat has decided that nighttime is his personal concert hour, and I’m losing my mind a little. He curls up next to me, totally chill, nothing wrong at all… and then purrs like a tiny lawnmower right in my ear. It’s cute for about five seconds, then I’m wide awake at 3 a.m. wondering what he wants. Is he anxious? Bored? Just vibing?? I love the little guy, but I also love sleep. Anyone else deal with this or have tips before I start wearing industrial-strength earplugs?
literally as a cat owner, i have had cats for a while, and tbh jst relax and enjoy it, to me its free cuddles and i love it when they purr bc then ik theyre relaxed and trust me to be with them
but my cat purrs at the weirdest things- i can like pat her, and she'll purr, and scratch her and she'll purr, and sometimes i pick her up and she still purrs- but its jst a way to show that they trust you and are very relaxed ^^
Cat owner of 3. Loud purring at night is usually just comfort, not anxiety. Cats purr when they’re relaxed and settled, and nighttime is when they’re naturally more alert. If nothing else seems off, it’s just a cat being content and badly timed.
