Who was the first group you stanned and how did you find them?

Twice. It just came up when I typed “kpop” after my friends were talking about it non stop.

Bts in early 2017. I really liked watching shows like the voice and such and I saw something in my YouTube recommendations so I thought ‘kpop’ was a show. I looked it up and found out it wasn’t, obviously. From there I looked up kpop and blood sweat and tears came up

My girlfriend (best friend at the time) was obsesssssed with kpop (still is) and she told me that she wanted me to listen to her kpop songs. I told her no but she spammed me anyway.
She sent me Boombayah first and i fell in love with it, and then ddu du ddu du.

A few months later, we started dating and I felt bad for not liking her music, so I began to listen to more blackpink... and that is how blackpink became my Spotify artist of the year.

iconically she also sent me Egotistic at one point and I told her I didn’t like it... it’s now my favourite sont

My first group was BTS back in 2016. I was a huge fandom/book nerd and always on Pinterest or Tumblr. I kept seeing this term 'K-pop' and had no idea what it meant. Finally, my curiosity got the better of me and I looked up the only kpop word I knew at the time...Jungkook. It was a quick downward spiral after that.

my friend made me listen to gee and i loved it so i was watching a lyric video one night fire by bts was on the side and i was like i heard of them so i listened to it and bam i stan

I first stanned bts like in October of 2019. I was watching some youtube video that was about youtube videos that broke records (?), and fake love by bts broke the record for most viewed in 24 hrs, I think and the mv was so aesthetically pleasing and sounded good so I checked them out and yeah
