What's the difference btw being "hot" and being "sexy" in your opinion ?

I've seen people use the respective words interchangeably on various virtual platforms' — so — I was wondering if you guys' use it discreetly or that there is a difference in the context in which it's used ?

Supplementally, can I ask if you guys' would be offended if someone referred to yourself as such in public ; and if it depends on whether it's the opposite, or the same gender ?

I think that "hot" is often seen as a broader and more general descriptor, while "sexy" tends to emphasize a stronger, more explicitly sensual appeal.
