I haven't seen Mixnine yet; I know it's renowned as something of a farce, but I feel like I have to check it out...
The debut is interesting since YG made a lot of casting going to many agencies and places you won't expect. But his way of recruiting was shitty as hell. For group already known he would just took half of the members. He also excluded those who appeared in TV Show before. His game was to give them high hopes then deceive them, putting them in top 9 bus then replacing them by newer contestants. Still there were many high talent who continued and the show has good songs and great perfs. For the girls we have Itzy, Fave Girls, Loona, Berry Good, Dreamcatcher, Favorite, Bonus Baby, Sori, Eyedi, and many other trainees were there. I don't remember the boys groups but they were really good too. They made harsh competition between boys and girls, and the boys won. There are also the evil edit you could expect. One issue of the show is it's highly focused on YG and his assistant Big Bang Seungri, we know how it turned out for them now. Another issue is that the show is built on the promise to promote the winners, but they didn't. So it was a bad joke.
