It has been announced by the Chaoyang Procurators’ Office on August 16, 2021, that Kris Wu has been approved for arrest.
It was announced that the procurators, who are in charge of the investigation and prosecution of crimes, have approved his arrest after carrying out the investigation process according to the law.

I'm not really sure what to think about this whole thing

I'm definitely not going to choose sides because I don't think there is enough evidence from any of the parties, but I'm also not going to defend any of them

This whole situation reminds me a little of the Kim Woojin situation where everyone thought he was lying but it turns out he didn't actually do it
At the time I believed some of the rumors even though there wasn't enough evidence and I don't ever want to make that same mistake again
There was also this whole "even if there is no evidence, side with the victim" thing going around, and even now when I look back on it, it doesn't really make sense, you should just not choose sides, right?

So for now I'm staying undecided

I totally agree. Even as a person who didn't know much about Woojin, I still blamed him and chose the sides of the victims. I don't want to do that to anyone ever again.

wait, on suspicion- you're telling me they don't know?! and they're arresting him? i don't think that's how it should work, but someone please correct me if i'm wrong, i don't know much about how arrests work..

i think it differs for every country, i think it's better for him to be under bunch of investigation and locked up indefinitely just for the safety of the general public but i don't think he should be like legit locked up until they find out enough evidence.
i do take sides of all of the victims, however, and i won't believe he is not guilty until he, lawyers, and just his law team in general has enough evidence to show he's innocent. /srs /lh

tbh i don't know, i also haven't been following much, it's a v tricky subject for me so i try to avoid it especially hearing abt what he yk did and hrjhrsga yeah, i can try looking for stuff online, but a lot of the info should/might be in this thread. i skim the thread every once in awhile just so i know enough of what's going on without getting upset.

So I guess this concludes this case, after a year and so...
"On 25 November 2022, Chaoyang District People's Court in Beijing sentenced Wu to a total of 13 years in prison and deportation from China after serving his sentence for rape and group lewdness. Wu was also fined an additional six hundred million yuan for tax evasion"

Bye. At least he got what he deserved tho it should've been more years imo.
