Hi so I don't know how to turn down this boy that I'm talking too because I'm too scared to hurt anyone's feelings.
Here are the circumstances:

I have never met this boy irl but we both graduated from the same college this month. He followed me on insta a while ago but only DMed me about a week ago. We talked for a bit on there and I was happy with how it was going so I gave him my number when he asked. We have now been texting for a few days. Since maybe a day or two ago I just haven't been feeling it anymore. He doesn't seem capable of talking about difficult things in my life and usually brushes things away. Quite a bit has happened to me emotionally this past week and when I tried to discuss it with him he kinda just tries to move away from that convo as soon as he can. He also doesn't have many interests at all and we don't have a ton in common. I wasn't originally super attracted to him physically but I thought that maybe getting to know him would change that but it hasn't. He's moving to the state I currently live in during mid-June and wants to meet up for like a date or something. I really don't want to have to do this as I am not interested in a romantic relationship with him.
Please give me any tips on how I can kindly turn him down. I'm thinking about ghosting him for a bit to see if he says anything. Then I'll send something to him, but I wanted to see if someone with more experience turning down someone over text could help.

I also really don't know if I'm allowed to post this as a thread, so if I'm not feel free to delete this if you are a mod. :)

Honestly, I have a habit of ghosting people when I’m not interested in them. Then usually if they respond, I just tell them I’m not ready for a relationship right now, without going into much detail. If you don’t want to ghost him, you could try saying something along the lines of “since we don’t have much in common, maybe we should stop talking” or talking less, I’m not really sure how to help other than, ghosting, or you could always block his number/block him on Instagram and just hope he doesn’t try to contact you again. Sorry if this isn’t that helpful, @Lost_in_the_Dream but please let us know how it goes!
