My school is doing Shrek the Musical Jr. this year, and our teacher left us in the classroom. Alone. Telling us 'behave' and expecting us to do it are two different things. Especially when:
1. Music from the musical is playing
2. 50 theater kids are trapped in one room.
So, naturally, kids starting singing along with the music super off-tune. It would've been funny if it hadn't been so ridiculous. And off-tune means screeching at pitches I didn't know existed.
Then Olen went around popping the paper bags, and they sound SO MUCH like a balloon it's crazy. And ppl are working on the ceiling, and now kids are yelling about doing a human sacrifice to stop him.

If you're a theater kid, tell about your experiences!
Or just funny stories about school.

Gaahh I miss theater so much!! It was so much fun in our theatre club. I don't know if schools in Germany just don't do many creative things but we at least didn't have much, no big events or such (other than "project week" every two years). With one project week one year our theater club actually formed- we did shadow theatre with paper puppets we crafted and everyone had so much fun that a full theater club was made. It started with shadow theatre (like with us not with paper puppets fjhgkjf) and after that it became regular theater.
It's so funny because I always did the loud threatening antagonist roles and everyone said I was so good at it but I can't even speak to a cashier without getting anxious like I'm the complete opposite on stage it's wild 😭 But performing on stage was so cool, I'm an introverted and really anxious person around people but I didn't even really get nervous when we performed. And staying in an empty theater hall before/after performing and just goofing around was so much fun.
Our last project sadly got cancelled due to covid, I really would've loved to do it (Les Choristes)!! But also a lot of fun was when we had another project week some years later as an established group by now and we did some Hamilton songs. My (and of some other members) history teacher was a big Hamilton fan, even saw it live in London at one point and he was so sure we would not be able to present that in less than a week but he was WRONG and even talked about how he was wrong in history class later 💀
Still to this day I know Hamilton's whole last dialogue in and out goodbye. We did perform it in a class room during project week and some time later even during a town event on the street dgfkhfjhgjf This was the first time I was more nervous but it went fine.

So yeah, even though I would say I'm a theatre kid, I never really burst out singing or dancing or whatnot because I'm more of a calmer person, but if everyone started to sing in our friend group I'd always join in :]
