it was actually announced in October but they are only going to restart activities on Dec 23 / 24 so in a few days

nice, SILENT SIREN were one of the very first (maybe the second after SCANDAL?) Jgroups i ever discovered so it obviously was sad when the group when on hiatus (which at that point sounded more like disbandment), that said the members were still really close, they even launched their own label SAYN.inc, etc

although they still don't have a drummer so during their future performances they are going to have guest drummers perform with them

the reason why they are missing a member and went on hiatus for almost 2 / 3 years is... complicated

basically during the covid19 era the group just like other artists had to slow down their activities due to health restrictions, during that time the leader and drummer of the band Hinanchu met Yusaku Maezawa, one of Japan's richest persons, kinda strange that a member of a popular girl band would move in the same circles as him is what you would think but Hinanchu actually comes from a wealthy? connected? family she lived most of her early years in Indonesia because her father was a high level diplomat or businessman from Japan so the point is that is not weird that they would know each other

anyway they started dating, at that time he was planning a trip to the space station and had to move to Russia and Kazakhstan and asked her to go with him for half a year and since then she started seeing the other members less and less, when she came back the band was about to celebrate their 10th anniversary but just a few days before the event she casually told the others that she decided to quit the group after the celebration

i don't think Hina did anything bad but it definitely was a bad timing to break the news, that literally nuked her relationship with and Suu, Yuyako and Aina and the 3 of them don't have any contact with the former anymore

i can tell you it was incredibly shocking for fans and i can't imagine how painful was for the members, is hard to explain this to people that doesn't follow the group but the SILENT SIREN members were as close as a group of people could get, for more than a decade they spent almost every single day together and were really close and suportive of each other

anyway, SILENT SIREN = good
