It was! Granted it was my first time ever suggesting contests for the forum and I didnt think many people would like them but when more people started joining, Jess, another mod, changed the voting to what it is now and its stuck since then!

Yes! They have grown in popularity over the years. Like @galaxies was saying, back then only a small handful of people would join but now its like double or triple the amount
