Why does the batteries in my remote randomly decide to die in the middle of a music video

so im working w my friend on our science project
we were only allowed to work in pairs or 1’s
so i was pretty sure i was gonna be alone
but then she said ‘let’s work together’
and at first i was like ‘i mean, hey, at least im not alone’
but after a week or smth, i remembered that she already has a best friend
and everyone was asking her ‘why are u not with ur bestie bruh’
and like, they’re not even arguing or anything
so idk why she picked me
